As mentioned above.......maybe he would like to honour the country that afforded him every benefit in life that he holds today?

I think all your reasoning above is a fair enough opinion. I don't agree with it.....but it doesn't make your opinion "dumb"

just different to mine is all.
I should say, my main point wasn’t Australia vs Fiji either. I disagreed with the statement that you can’t be a passionate QLDer and as passionate about another country other than Australia at the same time.

Like I said, I give back to Australia everyday and yes I would still choose Fiji.
Fair enough....thats your choice, I don't agree with it....but each to their own.

Out of curiosity and to take it to the extreme......if Australia was at war with Fiji.....which side would you be on.....?

Well....I never said that you can't be passionate about another country, but as with most things in life, sometimes you have to make a choice between equal things you love. Its never an easy choice, but one that none the less has to be made.

It wasn’t your point I disagreed with originally, that was in response to someone else’s post.

I’d be a conscientious objector 😉

Would you agree that your life today would be vastly different (I'll go as far as to say...worse) than it is today....if you were born and educated/lived in Fiji?

Yep...sorry....I meant to reply to the snide remark @theshed made about other peoples opinions.

You have been nothing but respectful sir..... 👍

Where are you trying to go with this line of questioning?

I think we sometimes underestimate or take for granted, just what opportunities are available in Australia, when compared to other countries....and indeed, just how lucky we are to be living here and to have benefited from these opportunities given.

The end game should be 17 players who play locally are selected for international teams. Players from Australia who have never stepped foot on their country of Origin doesn't help bring in new fans or players, in fact it creates a wall where those who play locally don't get a shot because someones Grandma was born there. There won't be any new Jamaican fans created because some Super League players decided to don their jersey.

The International game will never be a pinnacle when there is 3.5 countries who take it seriously. The ARL can't even grow the game in Australia and they're expected to grow the game worldwide? The onus needs to be on those International teams to create, fund, advertise and grow their own local competitions, otherwise we can't expect any growth because just like always, the growth is coming only from the East Coast of Australia.

We need a governing body who gives a shit about growth and wants to make changes at all levels.

I think it's a good problem to have. Origin is as strong as ever and the international game is getting stronger.
That's the thing, Australia doesn't need Help, Australia could make atleast 3 teams that would be favourite for the world cup, we have the best league with the most participants in the game by a country mile.

To say playing State of Origin is the same as playing for Australia in internationals is the same is a false equivalence(Because the argument for it basically says it is).

Good on the nrl. Finally coming down hard on the Cowboys by giving Lolo a 3-4 game ban. It will really effect them having him serve it at the world cup too... arrogant fuckwits, deadset joke of an administration.

How is that even possible? Technically the nrl could just suspend every non-australian before rhe world cup.

Plenty of Brisbane girls in the PMXIII vs PNG at Suncorp

Ciesiolka, Chapman, Tungai, Harden, Holyman, Bass and Ferguson

Ciesiolka first try 6-0

Interesting thing is all the footy players i know would put playing for Queensland above playing for Australia.

Ferguson with a nice solo try

42-0 with 26 mins to go
