International rugby league

The poms will really need to lift their game for the next two tests. Without the slow play the balls allowed by the English ref the score could have blown out to anything.

Can't blame England though, most of their team is playing in SL which is quite a bit behind NRL,

Not according to @Foordy .

If the ruck spped is anything like the game last night then aerobic fitness is waaay less of a priority .

A ref policing the ruck = 50 nil Australia .

Walsh is confirmed best player in the game.

If Nsemba and Smithies weren’t injured, Wane should be sacked those on those two omissions alone. His problem is that he picks blokes on reputation and not on current ability, which is fine for club football, not rep when you have other better players available.

Williams looked average all ESL season and stifles Lewis. Mikey is the player the side needs to be built around. Instead it seemed he just had instructions to give the ball to Williams and just shuffle it on.

Welsby missed half the season through injury, he’s way off the pace and it showed in the games he do play when he can back. He’s looked banged up for 18 months which has made him regress. Pick someone else there and let him get his body right.

England’s middles were awful, not only did they make no metres, they missed a million tackles as well. Bateman isn’t good enough anymore, yet he keeps getting picked.

Finally on their coach, he came out in the presser saying a few times Aus is better than us, and while that is true, what message does it send to your players?

I can't remember seeing worse play the ball speed than what we witnessed last night. If that's the norm for Super League then they need the NRL to take over. The game with PTB speeds of around 3-3.5s is just so much better to watch.

Also, I was stoked for Walsh to have such a good debut. The rest of the NRL fandom will spend a lot of next year hating him if he keeps up his great form, so it's nice for the haters that they get to appreciate his talent at least for a few games a year.

That was 1980's England bad, just nothing. Really disappointed.

Thought Australia started slowly which is normally the way, we lost at Wembley in 90, 94 and 95 World Cup. But that just shows how bad England were; Australia was at 80% and won easily.

England should be thankful Australia didn't play any club games or otherwise they win this Test by 40.

Walsh was great, only other double on debut I can remember is Peter Jackson in 1988.

Munster and Grant warmed into it and the second half was good.

The ruck was painful; Atkins will have to blow 100 penalties if England do that again. Australia conditioned to move out of the ruck and England still didn't take advantage of quick PTB's given to them.

Wally sums up the difference between Australia and Great Britain here in the 1980's tests.

I think you've tagged the wrong person ... I have no idea what the SL is like since i rarely watch it these days
