Intrust Super Cup Discussion - 2017

Could Billy Walters push for a starting spot if he came here? I feel like Kodi is just a utility.

Do we want to keep our current globetrotters attacking style going? Then might as well keep Kodi there.

Don't you miss the days of Walters and the little general tearing teams apart? We could have that again.

He'd need a dominate half with him but he has done really well this year with Croft. Croft takes the 'Cronk' role and Billy roams around even getting into dummy half if he wants.

Walters doesn't tend to run enough I don't think. When he does he is brilliant. I wish he would do it more. His short kicking game is strong and he chases them like a man mad.

He's mouthy too- love that in a half.

That's the problem, if we want to get back into a more traditional Bennett/Bellamy/almost any other coach style of footy, we need a Cronk role.

Walters other big strength is he works very well with the players around him. Gives McInnally early ball and high kicks, combines well off the ruck with Butterfield and on the left with McCallum.

Smith out tomorrow, big loss for Falcons but Bishop does a good job.

I am going Easts and Falcons.

Croft injured yesterday in Easts' win, they will have to do without him.

Winner yesterday- Walters to Butterfield.

Hey 1910, have you got a link anywhere to where Hazard has signed for the Tigers? I cant find anything about it, all i can find is Gamble is going there.

I wouldn't be surprised if PNG v Redcliffe manages to out-draw Manly-Penrith or Cronulla-NQ. They've drawn some healthy crowds PNG and this maybe the best side they've ever assembled. It's a nice story in the game and isn't getting anywhere near the amount of coverage it should be.

I don't follow the QCup close enough, but am looking forward to Easts v Sunshine. If I had a QCup team, it would be Easts and I'd love to see them break drought, albeit it's going to be tough now without Croft. Seems like both teams have big outs, I thought Brandon Smith would be back now for the Falcons so it gives Easts some hope of advancing.

Great Storm match ups.

Olam, Hawkins, Drinkwater, Jacks and Kamikamica for Falcons and Myles with Nicholls for Tigers.

Croft is a huge hole for Easts to fill and their poor starts. Walters and Butterfield are key to over come that and get them points. Falcons clocked off last week and let Magpies back in again. They're both good defensive sides and I don't think you will see a lot of points.

Close game.

No haven't seen anything but got told they're both going together.

Dolphins v Hunters will be telling, Hunters have to win so they don't have to come down here twice to win the ISC. Dolphins will be bashed up next week if they have to play that will be good for either Tigers or Falcons.

It takes weeks to recover from going up there, even staff get sick and don't feel right.

Easts' certainly getting some calls in their clash against the Falcons.

Falcons have been their own worst enemy at times. Not quite executing their opportunities and giving away some silly penalties. The Tigers are winning the middle but Smith and Hughes look likely whenever they get their hands on the footy.

Walters isn't having the best game so far. I like his willingness but he's got issues he needs to work out in this second half.

Falcons win in a thriller.

Nothing in it, both teams threw everything at one another and it's a game where you can put it down to individual plays. That tackle by Soper-Lawler on Carey was huge as was the effort from Lewis on Walters which led to the Drinkwater try. I thought those moments among others showed how resilient the Falcons were in defence and the Tigers really had to earn their tries.

Meanwhile the Falcons had an easier time crossing the line. The first two tries from Ballinger and the one from Lewis were fairly soft for a final and one of the Easts players slipped over in the lead up to Lewis' try. Meanwhile the only soft try I remember for Easts was the Zgrajewski effort, the others they either had to work hard for or pull off the unexpected.

Great game though, Port on Olam was an excellent chase.

PNG beat the Dolphins in a low scoring game. Falcons will be a good test for them.

Probably opening myself up here saying this, but heard some interesting things about Redcliffe earlier today ( cant really say what they are on here yet ) and i think Mogg is going to be under a bit of pressure if they dont win it this year after they didnt really turn up against Burleigh in last years game.
