Intrust Super Cup Discussion - 2017

It's a shame there wasn't a live stream for what was a historic game at Port Morsby. I wonder what the crowd was? I can't wait to see the replay to see what their reactions like in the 62nd minute.

Dolphins v Falcons should be fantastic, Falcons would be up after today's effort and the Dolphins will have to do some soul searching. It's never good to be try-less in a final.

I thought it would have been the TV game tbh. Lot of pressure on Redcliffe now. There is a lot of expectation there. Mogg went in with a plan of containment and matching up with the physicality of the Hunters and it backfired.

14,000 was officially announced. Capacity is only 12,000!

It was a great atmosphere.

Too expensive to make it the TV game.

Is that bigger than the Sydney NRL finals? If so, what a joke the NSWRL is.

It's nothing to gloat about. Sydney is slowly falling out of love with RL which is terrible for the sport. Even the support base in Brisbane is only centred around Logan, Caboolture and Ipswich. Soccer is doing some serious damage to the code.

This is actually my point. It isn't gloating, it is dismay at what are abysmal crowds in league 'heartland'. The same weekend, the Swans get a sell-out. That should tell the NRL they are in serious trouble and need to do something to up their game to compete with two highly professional sporting competitions in the AFL and soccer, of course they will keep their heads buried in their own backsides under the sand in their ignorance.

Their idea of doing something is by making every game as close as possible.

Over on LU they mentioned a licensing issue?

I'm not really sure what's going on with the Hunters. Have any of their home games been televised on 9?

Matt Lodge was a wrecking ball in today's match. Hunters did well to rush up and gang up on him but gee he's a big unit and got good ball skills as well. Seating capacity is actually 15k not sure about the numbers but from what I saw it was packed to the rafters. Lodge has been really good this year he was very close to winning the CM best and fairest medal but got edged out by Hunters five eighth Ase Boas by one point

What would the expense be? You wouldnt think in this day and age it would be that difficult.

You have to go there and take all the 9 people and gear.

Pride couldn't have home finals one year because they wanted it to be the tv game. Jets v Hunters was played at Wynnum in 2015 for the prelim final.

Check the tv viewers. NRL smashed everyone.

Interesting. Backs up what i heard yesterday and stuff i have heard throughout the year about Redcliffe ( I'll take it with a pinch of salt though as its a Badel article ). Bennett isnt a great fan of Redcliffe at the best of times, and i'm fairly sure he doesnt think a lot of Mogg. If Mogg is coach there next year, i can see us not sending a single player to the Dolphins.

We could see the biggest crowd in ISC history for the GF.

There are a lot of PNG supporters over here.. And they are crazy about Rugby League.

Over 2k tickets already sold once the Hunters advanced.

Hearing Redcliffe have dropped Hazard for the game against the Falcons. Seems a very odd decision.
