OFFICIAL Isaako released to Titans

Well that settles it. He's an elite fullback.

For mine, Herbie can be elite anywhere in the backs, and probably 2nd row if he wanted to - he's big enough.

It was enough for me to see him run support constantly when he was at the back, wanting to get involved in everything. How refreshing.

The only thing that concerns me about Herbie at the back is that his preference is the centres, which for mine, is the only position Isaako can make his own.

Really? He played 65 minutes, fucked up the try at halftime and that single mistake cost us the game? Like, how did the other 46 points scored against us get credited to Isaako? I mean, tell me exactly why Isaako was responsible for the other 46 points. When Isaako fucked up on halftime it was 18 all. The second half was 4 minutes old when Robati was sent off, that led to two tries immediately.

If anyone singlehandedly cost us the game it was Robati. As I pointed out the score was 24-18 at the time. Suddenly it was 36-18. That's on Robati. Well, it would be if it was being considered by someone without an agenda.
Yes, he did.

At 18-12 up and then 18 all, we were well and truly in the game. Then Isaako unforgivably allowed the try on half time, played the ball on the oppositions foot (and then wasted our challenge on it (seriously?!?)) for a turnover and then knocked on, all in the space of about a collective 4 mins, punctuated by half time.

In a team that is as brittle as crepe paper, they're the sort of catalysts that result in big losses. It has been that way for the last few years. We compound stupid errors and then go to shit. Ask yourself: why were we defending when TC was binned? That’s right, because Isaako had already turned the ball over, twice, in the first few sets we had of the second half. So, no, the ship had well and truly already sailed when TC was binned.

But if you want to masquerade your hard on for Isaako behind a faint attempt to say I have an agenda against him, go right ahead. But what you will find is that there is post after post of you debating how good he is with others on here. Yet you won’t find a single other post before this week where I hold him to account for a loss.

So far no one has given a reason to move Farnworth there other than Isaako having a particularly bad game against the Dragons. All I'm asking for is why you think Farnworth is a fullback.

The way I see it Farnworth is a rookie, who like Isaako oozes talent, but seems to be struggling in a positional shift from the wing. And let's be honest, Herbie isn't killing it at centre.
Reason already provided:
I think you may be missing the point of why people were impressed with him.

All the great fullbacks follow the play and are there for the half-break. On Thursday, Herbie demonstrated that he has the ability to follow the play, and has previously shown he can turn a half chance into something. It’s a start, and already more than Isaako has shown in his entire career. Regardless, in 15 minutes and down 1000-0, I’m not really sure what else you wanted to see from him?

Honestly, there is no way on gods green earth Isaako should have the 1 jumper ever again, unless it has a 4-7 (or preferably 8 or even 9) after it.

Herbie quite literally cannot be any worse, so why not give him a few games and see how the chips fall?

................- not all fullbacks are ball players, look at Tedesco or RTS.
Yeah but they both more than make up for it with their support play.

Idroppo doesn't even know the meaning of the word/s......

Not to mention Lodge especially but others also constantly looking for a runner and the fullback nowhere to be seen, that deflates guys busting their gut and having no fullback there in support. Or the drop outs on the full that happen regulartly compounding errors, etc. Or Isaako dropping the ball once or twice every game. These things all add up when you are part of a mentally fragile team.

Don’t waste your time arguing mate, the point is redundant anyway.

Tedesco is 19th in TA and 8th in LBA. He is undoubtedly a more elite ball player than anyone in our squad, halves included.

I don't believe either player lost us the game "on their own"......... the entire team was pretty shit. Idroppo's errors certainly did hurt us when we had the momentum swing of the game in our favour.

Today's game is so very reliant on the game's momentum.......

Of course the whole team lost it but there is no way anyone with eyes could look at Isaako's performance last week and be like, yo yo yo that loss isn't on him y'all. He was totes good like and is just mizundastood ya!

Isaako deserves everything he cops for that performance, it was arguably as bad as Milf's the week before.

On Isaako's clanger at HT last week....

Justin Hodges made a similarly braindead, unforgivable error...

3 times...

in a row...

in an origin game.

Players make mistakes, learn and grow.

Isaako's error was absolute horrific and awful and will remain in our mind for years, but lets' keep some perspective here.

I agree we need a fullback but the reality is that aside from Dufty - who has been woeful outside of a short run this year, there is nobody available and nobody else in the team who seems to be up for the task. Cobbo may be there soon? But for now let the kid acclimatise to first grade on the wing where it's more forgiving. Same goes for Niu if he ever gets another chance.

Jamayne has been one of our only attacking weapons this year and he is still the best option moving forward FOR NOW- not all fullbacks are ball players, look at Tedesco or RTS.

The squad is better off with Isaako at 1, whether people want to admit that after last week or not.
We may be better off with Isaako at FB this year but it would help if we actually tried another player there to actually see if thats even the case.

If we are supposed to look internal for the FB spot maybe we should actually do that, rather then try nothing and shrug.

What did you think of Cobbo's performance? He made 5 tackles and missed 4.

It wasn't great defensively, some of those missed tackles were embarrassingly bad. He did however make some good hit ups and looked promising at times. I've said all along, fans need to be patient with him. He also isn't a former rookie of the year who is in his what, fifth year of first grade and should be expected to not make the same mistakes week in, week out.

I do think the fact we have trialled 45 players in the halves this season, and as of yet, not even anyone not named Idroppo at fullback....to be quite perplexing...

Why is he a protected species..?

If the cultural reboot is making people responsible for their actions.....then Idroppo literally needs to be his surname...

Hence, why NOT give Herbs a run there....you never know unless you try...

Maybe it would be unfair on Isaako on that error alone but the fact is that it was the piece de resistance of a fullback game with zero of the fundamentals and subtleties required to play the position at an elite level. That error is reflective of a total lack of football smarts. With that in mind, could Isaako possibly be doing a good job at organising defence? that’s one of the most important parts of a fullback’s job. Given how short we often are for numbers I gather he is not doing it. He has to go.

I see your point with Herbie @McHunt, but honestly I haven’t seen anyone on here saying he’s going to be elite there. That said I think we see a lot of potential in him and want to see what he’s like at fullback this season since we’re already fucked.
