OFFICIAL Isaako released to Titans

Dufty is the obvious one on the market, though it needs to be pointed out, it's not an accident that he hasn't got a deal next year already. He does a lot of good things, certainly more good things than Isaako does, but he's also far from a complete Fullback and plenty capable of some pretty big errors too. If we went down that path we have to be prepared to wear the bad games too.

they were talking about this (on why on earth the Dragons want to move on Dufty for Ramsey) on Big League wrap (fox), and Ennis i think it was made a pretty good point.

basically he said that the fullbacks that were the complete package (i.e. both defensively sound and great in attack) like the Tedesco's ... cost you a million a season. the next rung down (where Ennis believes Dufty is firmly situated) will have flaws in their game, and the question is whether their good points outweigh these flaws

I keep asking: why Herbie, where is the intel that he's a fullback coming from?

I think he first signed with us as a full back, and in one interview- can't recall which one, he said he has played at the back but it seems he prefers to develop his centre play.

This is all nonsense, lets just blood Cobbo at FB for the rest of the year. Forge the kid in fire.
Leave herbie where he is and send Isaako back to Qcup till he proves he wont kick a ball dead off the kick off every game.

Oates =500K, Croft 450K Milford $1 mil! A total of almost $2 mil of our cap being totally unproductive on a weekly basis. Not only that, it looks like there will be no benefits gained from these three moving forward. I understand the club does not want to be held over a barrel by Lodgey's player options as he may just fall back on his laurels and revert back to Lodge 2019/2020.

Surely if we have $2 mil wasting away in reggies we can afford the risk of Lodge remaining. We can revisit offloading him next season if his input drops off, but why let go one of our standout players?

As far as FB goes the only reason we should not get Dufty in is we are spending our cash on another 9 /6/ or 1. If you compare him with Isaako both their defensive abilities are questionable, but Dufty gives you far more in attack AND HE BACKS UP HIS FORWARDS!

Phew, for a second there I thought there was some reasoning behind wanting to move him.

We thought the same with you backing up Badel but despite examples being provided, you have simply shifted the goal posts to an interpretation of exclusive literally no one (likely outside of you and Badel) has ever used.

So we all make some dumb claims at times, you and me very much included.

Makes me wonder.....i mean....whilst acknowledging they are a absolute clusterfuck of a club.....it did not go unnoticed by me just how good of a job John Morris did there at Cronulla...

Phased out the rubbish like Woods, Fifita and Dugan to secondary roles and brought through AND improved guys like Kennedy, Bailey, Rudolph etc....

And there he is without a gig right now.....

Look, been more than 30 years watching this mob; my attitude is we are the biggets club in the league, we demand the best coach. So unless your name is Bellamy, Robinson or even WB, then im laying a more critical eye across anyone else in charge...

Its not reality i know, but thats how i feel. I just knew it when he appointed his brother as a assistant instead of a more experienced former head coach this would end in tears...

You mentioned Langer and our halves......why hasnt Boxhead turned Jake Turpin into a dominant hooker yet? Or at least NRL level...?

Maybe former greats just dont make great coaches full stop....
I have considered this before and it is possible that kevie, alf, boxhead and co all played in an era which was completely different to today's game with structured defence and bending of the rules (i.e there is no way alf would get to his grubber and chase anymore, he would be taken out immediately).

You look at some of the more successful 'specialist' coaches and they have been pretty recent players (i.e. cronk, slater, johns) who are familiar with todays game. Their training works on how to play against these structures.

Lockyer would have been ideal but he doesnt seem that interested in assisting on the field.

It was a rhetorical question - note the deliberate absence of a question mark.

Besides, Isaako did a bang up job of losing us the game all on his own on Thursday.

So far no one has given a reason to move Farnworth there other than Isaako having a particularly bad game against the Dragons. All I'm asking for is why you think Farnworth is a fullback.

The way I see it Farnworth is a rookie, who like Isaako oozes talent, but seems to be struggling in a positional shift from the wing. And let's be honest, Herbie isn't killing it at centre.

My definition of "exclusive" is in the dictionary. It doesn't mean special knowledge, it means only available from one outlet. Why you think it's an all-encompassing leak of insider information is beyond my comprehension.

If Badel appears on the radio with "an exclusive" it means he's going to tell you something that he hasn't previously shared in public. It doesn't mean you haven't heard it before from someone else.

In print, an "exclusive" usually relates to a one-on-one interview. It doesn't mean the interviewee hasn't talked about the same subject to another interviewer. It doesn't mean it's breaking news.

The Cobbo interview was the "exclusive" not the news of him signing, which came in a corporate press release probably.

This is a well beaten path:

Funny about where he 'timed' its release though hey? He certainly was gunning for that made up media definition of exclusive wasn't he. Particularly in light of his other exclusive about Townsville winning the origin game 1 despite it already being broken elsewhere.

Anyway, I'm going to leave it there because this really isn't a productive discussion.

At least you can be sure anything you get from the McHunt masthead is exclusive to BHQ.

Really? He played 65 minutes, fucked up the try at halftime and that single mistake cost us the game? Like, how did the other 46 points scored against us get credited to Isaako? I mean, tell me exactly why Isaako was responsible for the other 46 points. When Isaako fucked up on halftime it was 18 all. The second half was 4 minutes old when Robati was sent off, that led to two tries immediately.

If anyone singlehandedly cost us the game it was Robati. As I pointed out the score was 24-18 at the time. Suddenly it was 36-18. That's on Robati. Well, it would be if it was being considered by someone without an agenda.

On Isaako's clanger at HT last week....

Justin Hodges made a similarly braindead, unforgivable error...

3 times...

in a row...

in an origin game.

Players make mistakes, learn and grow.

Isaako's error was absolute horrific and awful and will remain in our mind for years, but lets' keep some perspective here.

I agree we need a fullback but the reality is that aside from Dufty - who has been woeful outside of a short run this year, there is nobody available and nobody else in the team who seems to be up for the task. Cobbo may be there soon? But for now let the kid acclimatise to first grade on the wing where it's more forgiving. Same goes for Niu if he ever gets another chance.

Jamayne has been one of our only attacking weapons this year and he is still the best option moving forward FOR NOW- not all fullbacks are ball players, look at Tedesco or RTS.

The squad is better off with Isaako at 1, whether people want to admit that after last week or not.
