Sorry Pete, I had a chortle at this.

The words 'Folau' and 'long term' cant exist in the same sentence when all he's interested in is how much he can get for his church.

This just doesn't fit with what has happened to date.

Why would Folau renege on the Eels and the NRL this year to go to the Warratahs, and then turn around in 2014 to play Rugby League when there is a RWC2015 just around the corner and his name is thrown in the ring?

Or are he and Sonny going back for a crack in 2015.

I don't begrudge Norman taking the money, truth be told I didn't really want him at the club long term. However, Norman isn't going because he cherishes the blue and gold. He just wants to reap the most rewards out of his craft.

Norman has grown up being not that well off so it isn't a surprise that he has taken the first big money offer that has come his way. I'd probably do it as well.

Some treat it like a job, others feel privileged to play the game or for their team, or both. Nothing wrong with either I guess. I know which one I would want at my club though :)

I have no problem with the money its that he will leave at the drop of a hat to take the next pay day, from the point of view of a football club this isn't a good thing.

Pretty much. It sounds like the money Parra offered was a lot more than he was offered up here as well. It is an easy decision most of the time.

I don't have an issue with players taking the money. I do have an issue if they've previously come out and said "I love the club I'd never play anywhere else" blah blah blah - or worse, cry when their new club doesn't extend their contract and accuse them of "lacking loyalty".

I do also hate the "I have to look after my family" line. It's not like $300K leaves you on the poverty line compared to $450K... If I could earn $300K for a few years I'd be able to set myself up for life.
