OFFICIAL Jack Bird goes down

Well **** , .......... **** !
Will we ever get to put our best team on the park.

We did, in the Trials. We won the first halves and got pounded in the 2nd halves.

Please somebody show me a highlights reel of this bloke in a Broncos jersey literally winning us games?
Tried searching everywhere but just comes up with him dropping the ball over the goal line more than once.

Nobody is debating he is/was a shit signing, that ship has sailed mate.

I would really like to see everyone come out and support Bird. He can't be blamed for being a poor investment. I hope everyone can look past this and support him during yet another recovery period.
This is complete rubbish he should just get medical retirement and be done with it I'm sick of this fucking Bird getting paid a fortune to sit on the sidelines injuried.
Really? I think he deserves every bit of cash while he is sitting on the sideline. I also wish him well in yet another long lay off. I hope that he is well supported by the club and supporters and can come back to the player he was before these injuries occurred. I can imagine he is feeling pretty upset and frustrated that his body has fallen apart despite all his hard work and rehab. It is not his fault nor should he be pushed towards a medical retirement at 24.

HE deserves better than that. I hope the only thoughts are to support him during his lay off.

Mate, he's had the previous 12 months to soak in everyone's sympathy, he doesn't need another 12 months to do the same. He needs to get the best medical advice possible about these knees and find out if he can seriously rehab it or not. Right now, he's tearing ACL's in training runs..

Well with everyone dropping we are really gonna see if Siebold can coach now

Seriously some of the reactions on here are extremely ordinary.

I get being angry at players when they do stupid things but surely when a player trains hard and gets injured, in this case repeatedly, the first thought is to their welfare. Sadly for some its about trying to find room under the cap and berating the player. Wow!

Is this a worse injury ward going into a season than last year?

Bird + Lodge gone for **** knows
Glenn (c) is missing Round 1/2 with a hamstring
Joe O is suspended for sleeping in his car
Perese has done his career in with stupidity

I mean give me a fucking spell, this is a comedy.

It's tough and I feel for him and the club.

I don't think it's that a big a loss because it would imply the Broncos had something to begin with. Bird has hardly contributed to the club outside of his first game at 7 against the Warriors in 2018. I don't think it's been through a lack of trying, but when Bird wasn't plagued with injury he was making costly errors that either directly led to tries or bombed opportunities.

I don't even think his trial form was that impressive. He was easily handled in the Cowboys game and while he was sniffing around the ball against the Gold Coast, the only meaningful contribution he made was chasing a kick.

I think Bird was always a throw of the dice and fans were hoping he'd be just like Hodges when he had shown next to nothing to suggest he'd be at this level. It does create an embarrassing aboutface where Seibs will have to go back to Isaako but in a way, naming him on the bench saved him some embarrassment since he wasn't out of the 17 altogether like he should have been.

Brisbane really need to cut bait on Bird and just let everyone move on with their lives. As for the immediate future, they'll give Isaako an opportunity but it's clear the coaching staff don't have any faith in him. They may just stick with Arthars who is a very similar style of player like Alex Johnston who Seibs stuck with through out 2018 but he shouldn't be considered a long term option.

They'll have to hit the player market and hope they can sign a Ponga, otherwise they'll likely have to settle for Walsh and I don't think he'd be able to make any real difference until 2022.

I completely disagree. Its the clubs responsibility as his employer to get him the best medical advice and treatment. To have it happen again for the third time is more reason to show additional support. Suggesting we retire him at 24 shows a complete lack of decency. I don't think his career should be thrown away.

Strap yourselves in boys and girls, this season could take our beloved team to lows we have never before seen.

He’s been afforded more than any of us in his ‘job’. If we had months/years off in our jobs because of repeated injuries at work, we’d be sent packing.
He has had time off because of injuries caused in the workplace!!!! Seriously!!

He isn't being paid 800k to sit on his ass, Bongo. That just doesn't happen at any professional organization, sport or otherwise. When stuff like this happens, and it is tragic, of course I didn't wish it upon him but it happened anyway, and now we have to deal with it.

I'm telling you, the board are right now watching Bird's contract/cap situation with great intensity and Bird knows it I think. It would explain the amount of despair in his storm off.

although if we had contracts we could easily dig our heels in
