take it from someone who has worked in the security industry for the past 15 years ... performing a choke hold or sleeper hold or whatever you want to call it is not a lawful method to remove someone from a premises or restrain someone.
The reason given to is the unnecessary risk of death if not performed exactly right.
QLD police officers are not even allowed to perform the move anymore.
We never were. What we do is called a lateral vascular neck restraint and it isn't a choke hold.
I don't need take anyone's word for anything. Any use of force to another is legal when acting in self-defence, defence of dwelling, defence of premises acting under the authority of the owner of said premises, as long as it is not excessive in the circumstances. That is what the criminal code says in plain english.
