Jharal Yow Yeh injury update thread

Looks like he still hasn't had surgery and needs a skin graft. From the Broncos website.

SURGERY to repair Broncos Test winger Jharal Yow Yeh's fractured and dislocated right ankle has been put on hold because the 22-year-old requires a skin graft.

Eleven days after his horrific mishap against South Sydney in Perth, Yow Yeh remains in hospital awaiting an operation which it is hoped will set him on the path to a full recovery.

Broncos coach Anthony Griffin said last night Yow Yeh remained upbeat, but he admitted the delay was frustrating.

"He needs a graft where there was a compound fracture," Griffin said. "He needs fresh skin around the wound and they can't operate at the moment because there is too big a risk of infection.

"(Orthopaedic surgeon) Dr Peter Myers said Jharal is handling things well. He is remaining positive.

"It's a frustrating process, but they must get it right."

Yow Yeh sustained a compound comminuted fracture dislocation of the right ankle when he fell heavily after contesting a high ball.

Dr Myers said last week that Yow Yeh would not play this year, but there was a chance he could report for training ahead of the 2013 season.

I'd be losing it if I had to stay in hospital for 11 days in a row, ouch.

Good luck to him

Surprised a doctor would share that, I'd get rid of that post. Wouldn't be surprised if said doctor got in trouble from something releasing something like that.

Maybe Yoh Yeh doesn't care if his fans are kept up to date on his injury.

NRL on Fox showed vision of Yow Yeh visiting Broncos training today and apparently he's lost 15kg!! Just another part of the battle to get back to match fitness!
