You would hope so but given the cap mismanagement, you wouldn't think so.
Yeah they will probably end up spending it on the broncos retirement charity that we hold so dearly

We struggle for cap space because we keep paying for players to leave the club. Why? This is what I struggle with. Why are we so desperate ? How were we going to sign Fifita?
So with Bird, Boyd, Ofahenguae and Fifita gone that should free enough money up for a decent signing am I correct? A genuine full back or 6 would be just what the doctor ordered
Yep but the fact we are not talking to grant or his agent when he is now available for 2022 says something.
I thought he would be at the top of the list but I really don’t know what stars the club intends to chase for 2022.
No but he is a once in a lifetime talent that could be the broncos next great if we get him. The guy is someone you build a club around and you could be looking for a very long time to find the next grant. Look how long it's taken to find the next Alfie or Lockyer, they just aren't easy to come across. Especially atm when your hooker is pretty much the heart of the team.maybe like, instead of obsessing over grant, we look for the next grant? you can't tell me he's the only promising hooker coming out of Qld.
yeah but he's not coming to us. he is under contract for a while yet and is going to be playing for a successful team. we are not in the equation. hoping we are and repeatedly mentioning how we'd really like to sign him is just mindless white noise. No but he is a once in a lifetime talent that could be the broncos next great if we get him. You don't know that , Smith could play on and then he's a free agent. There's always a chance and as fans why can't we have hope in it happening.yeah but he's not coming to us. he is under contract for a while yet and is going to be playing for a successful team. we are not in the equation. hoping we are and repeatedly mentioning how we'd really like to sign him is just mindless white noise.
$50 dollar bet Grant doesn't play here for the next 3 years. Keen? You don't know that , Smith could play on and then he's a free agent. There's always a chance and as fans why can't we have hope in it happening.
You playing me with some inside knowledge ?$50 dollar bet Grant doesn't play here for the next 3 years. Keen?
lol na mate, I'm not that bad. If Smokin' Joe or someone liked either of our posts I'd be concerned though! You playing me with some inside knowledge ?
Haha , yeah I can understand why you would think that way but I know for a fact he wants to be in QLD. But you're right it would be hard to leave the Storm system.lol na mate, I'm not that bad. If Smokin' Joe or someone liked either of our posts I'd be concerned though!
I just don't see it as realistic. Why would Grant leave the Storm? Smith knows his time is up there, he's not even a contracted member of the Storm anymore. Grant has a contract for the next 2 years and he's playing under Bellamy for at least one of them. Storm want to keep him, he wants to stay, why would he choose Brisbane if he already has a starting spot at the Storm?
The only thing that I could see triggering it would be if he had personal issues and wanted to come home.
fair enough if you know things, I do not in the least. I'm just evaluating from the outside.Haha , yeah I can understand why you would think that way but I know for a fact he wants to be in QLD. But you're right it would be hard to leave the Storm system.
Interesting interview that with Kevvie, sounds like C.Smith to the Broncos (don't want actually or dare I dream, H.Grant) is not dead in the water when reading between the lines.
Smith's book basically says he's done. Grant will be locked down long term over the off season no doubt.
Grant isn't available for 2022.
he has a contract for 2022 and a mutual option for 2023

It's a pessimistic outlook I accept that, but you need only take one look at that positivity thread and the amount of reaching that is going on in there to understand just how dire the situation we're currently in is.
