OFFICIAL Joe Ofahengaue officially released

Haha , yeah I can understand why you would think that way but I know for a fact he wants to be in QLD. But you're right it would be hard to leave the Storm system.
fair enough if you know things, I do not in the least. I'm just evaluating from the outside.

Interesting interview that with Kevvie, sounds like C.Smith to the Broncos (don't want actually or dare I dream, H.Grant) is not dead in the water when reading between the lines.

Smith's book basically says he's done. Grant will be locked down long term over the off season no doubt.

So with Bird, Boyd, Ofahenguae and Fifita gone that should free enough money up for a decent signing am I correct? A genuine full back or 6 would be just what the doctor ordered
2022 or 23.

We are paying freight on these guys lol

It's going to take 2 to 3 years minimum for Kevvie to get this squad somewhere close to a top 4 proposition.
The Bird, Boyd, Milf signings fucked us long term with none of them bearing fruit. 2 out of 3 are mostly sorted and Milf will be sorted one way or the other this year.
Our pack is looking thin with little mongrel so I hope we manage to get a signing or 2 with players with noted aggression.
On paper we are soft across the park which is a big concern. TPJ is good on his day but they are few and far between.

Having sides like Canterbury cashed up makes it very hard to target decent players though because they have to pay silly overs.

Instability is the Broncos currency at the moment and it takes years to recover. The data is staggering.

Three coaches in four years.
15- 8 players left
16- 6 players left
17- 2 players left
19- 8 players left
20- 6 players left

41 active players debuted for the Broncos across all 16 clubs this year- 18 were not playing for the Broncos anymore.
C'mon, stats don't mean anythin😉. Although you could say it was more stable during the WB years.

cant see Cam Smith coming here to play...to become a coach perhaps...but not to play...

I love the articles coming out quoting Joe after his first interview yesterday' with the tigers. Basically said kevvie called him in and straight told him if he gets another offer to take it.

Goes on to say joe averaged just 106 meters a game last year and 89 meters a game this year. Simply not good enough for a guy who's played over 100 games and 5 years experience.

I'm glad we are cutting this kind of dead wood from the squad. However as others have mentioned there's a good chance madge flogs him into a solid starting prop and he turns his form around.

He'll turn into a gun in 21 because he has a point to prove is under a coach who won't accept mediocrity.

You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

Joffa has the potential to be a solid and reliable player with the occasional performance above this (I should also say, there is nothing wrong with this).

But an out and out gun - not going to happen, no matter the coach or environment.

At least Kevvy still has a heart.

When Joe asked him point black whether he wanted to coach him, Kevvie was probably thinking and could of said ‘No! You are an overpaid and undisciplined dime a dozen plodder that I can pull out of QLD Cup at a third of the price and extract more value out of than you. Besides when was the last time you played in an actually winning football team Joseph? August 2019? There’s the door’

Instead he took the subtle route of saying ‘Look if you get another offer I’d take it’

Liking his man management skills already. Go Kev!

I have to give kudos to Joe as well for how he has handled this and himself. He has been all class and he has not bagged the Bronocs at all, in fact to the contrary. I wish him all the best and I hope he can find some good form with the Tigers.

No better way to answer that question than you are free to look around. Does seem well handled.

March seems like such a long time to wait for some feedback on how the team will turn around in 21. Long offseason!
