I just hope he doesn't get enticed somewhere else because he has to wait behind Hunt for fullback.

I actually don't think he will have to wait too long behind Hunt. I am led to believe that Hunt will be moved from Fullback either 2009 or 2010. But yeah could play Hoffman on the wing for the rest of this season at least.

Although it's promising to think that he could well get the wing spot vacated by Kemp and do it well, I think his performance last night signalled the end for Hunt playing fullback at our club after this year. He'll hit the weights hard and play in the #13 next year IMO, with Hoffman slotting straight in to the custodian role.

Wow that's a big call.

I still think Hunt has so much to offer from fullback and I couldn't see him moving position for another 3-4 years at the very least.

I think it'll be sooner than most think, ethos. Can't say whether I've heard a decent word about it... heh.

Was reasonably impressed with his debut. But I think he missed a couple of tackles... One of which led to a large break. Overall though a pretty good performance. I agree that the 9 commentary bigged him up way too much, led by the toad Gould.

For some reason he reminded me of Julian O'Neil.

Would like to see Hunt moved closer to the action next year, and this guy get a chance to establish himself in fg.

So in other words you have.. :P

I know he played lock in junior footy but I just can't see Hunt competing with the likes of Laffranchi, Mason, Watmough, Gallen etc in the backrow. Can't see him making 30+ takles per game either.

Such a big change positionally, the demands of a lock are totally different to that of a fullback.

I'll be upfront and admit that I have heard more than a decent word about it icon_thumbs_u

Define "more than decent". :P

From the mouths of 2 members of Broncos staff (who are staying on as part of Henjak's team next year) in the space of 2 completely seperate conversations.

I told her :-)

Plus the move is in the making, watch him on field, catches ball runs straight back hard, notice the step is slowly being used less and less. And hes starting to hit harder in defense as well.

I think moving Hunt to lock would be a great idea if we have a fullback that can do as good a job as Hunt does now. Hunt has been destined to play in the 13 ever since he came into first grade. Ball playing locks are a dying breed having Hunt there for us would give us another dimension in attack IMO.

Oh yeah - and from Tee, so it MUST be true icon_smile

I'm still very much one of the pro-Hunt at fullback brigade, however if a move is on then i'd rather he try and find his feet in a position such as lock than at 5/8.

Robinson is just a complete joke, the Broncos will struggle to win the premiership if Robinson continues to come off his wing. And we all know about Robinsons ability in the air or lack thereof.

All we need is a solid winger that can defend cross-field kicks, and to mark up on his man.

Hoffman looks like he can do a job for us on the wing, he has got the skills of Hunt by the looks of how he played last night.

FFS Wayne open your damn eyes, Robinson is shit!

And Stagg is no 5/8,I wish Wayne would cut the crap and stop dishing out this shit to the fans. The fans ,the commentators, hell even blind freddy can see that we can't win with Stagg as 5/8.

Give A specialist half A go Wayne, like McCollough or Ben Hunt, atleast give the team and the fans some hope of winning instead of the same old shit with Stagg at 5/8. This is one thing I won't miss about WB.

Bennett needs to open his eyes on a lot of things.

I hate having Eastwood and Moon, who were junior 5/8 playing elsewhere so we can bloody Stagg at 5/8. This favourites thing has to stop. If there is no place for someone in the team then they shouldn't be there.

I really wouldn't mind seeing Hunt at lock to be honest though the potential open slot for 5/8th will hopefully go towards Moon after Locky's departure. Let's just hope the kid doesn't take offers from somewhere else!

Give Hoffman a few runs on the wing and he looks like he's got a bit of dash with some great aerial skills though I'm not too sure how he'll fair when pestered on the wing against the likes of Inu and Folau. As a fullback I think you'll find that the pressure is perceived and you virtually need to brace yourself after you catch the ball as opposed to competing in the air on the wing so I'm still a little unsure about his ability in the air. The Nightingale try that resulted from the Hornby aerial contest is an example though I don't think that was nearly as much Hoffman's fault as it was Robinson's.

Hoffman was super last night, I dont think he really could have played better. He was one of our best players along with Corey and Clinton.

Get rid of Robinson, Hoffman has more speed and skill than him and he can actually catch a high ball! Something that Robinson doesnt seem to be able to do very well if at all.

clinton is useless. i can remember his dropping a ball on the first tackle of a penalty.
