Might as well make it a sad song thread.

My reaction to this news...

Yep, I'm shattered. I just cannot believe the scope of our casualty ward over the past 2 years.

Yow Yeh - Broken Leg - Out indefinitely

Copley - ACL - Out indefinitely

Hodges - Achilles - 9-10 weeks

Kahu - Hand - 8 weeks total

Just unbelievable bad luck.

Think we could build a player out of those?

I prefer the NIN version but this is a PG site and Hodgey does come off as a cranky old man at times.

Remember the good times folks?

I have had a snapped Achilles and it is a bizarre injury on many levels. On the come back trail, You actually lose your strength in the ball of your foot, not the ankle. There is nothing there and it is like running in sand.
Justin knows the drum.
The mental issue is the main one and he knows the situation so I believe he will be back. Coming back from the first one would probably be harder because, as I mentioned, it really is what your mind tells you.
Good luck to him.

The fact that he came back so well from the first time gives me plenty of confidence he'll come back again and finish on his own terms.

It sounds like a scary injury but it doesn't seem to permanently hamper a player's skill, Carney hasn't changed since doing his last year.

i really hope we do sign a big name for next season, otherwise we're in a bit of trouble. all our strike players are out with long term injuries. oh the glory days of lockyer passing to hodges and then onto jyy... i got tears in my eyes

We got Kennedy. That's a pretty big name. 7 letters. Him playing in the front row makes him even bigger.

We aren't anywhere near the same side without Hodges.

He brings so much more to the side than just a physical presence .... inspiring and motivating the younger guys around him.

Hopefully for him (and us) he gets back on the field mid next year and finishes up strongly for us.

One of my favourite Broncos ever !!

I can't see him returning from this. That said when he did the same injury on the other leg nobody thought he would get back. Sad for Hodgo because he really wanted to play in the world cup
