NEWS Kahu set to return to Broncos after short stint at Cowboys

This guy works for the club.

Even if it's not 400k, it's still probably 300k over what he should be on. The club is apparently scraping for every last dollar at the moment and yet we waste critical funds on this bloke.

Very likely we keep Fifita, but it appears at the moment we will be relying on Dearden as our number one half next year. When he inevitably gets injured, what then? Back to Turpin in the number 7? **** me. They should be begging Melbourne to release Croft, not expecting them to pay most of his salary to play for us. What is in their fucking minds to even contemplate such an idiotic thought process? But, these are the same blokes who signed Seibold up for 6 years, so what else would you expect really.

Am still very confident Bird won't be here next year so that will free up a big chunk, but god almighty some of the people in this club really have a lot to answer for yet, they seem untouchable.

Everyone saying 400k, if he'd stayed at the Cows wouldn't we have been paying a chunk of that already?

Yep.

We released him so we would have been paying a portion of his salary.

Our recruitment and retention committee . The gift that keeps on giving.

Kahu has played three positions in his 15 games - centre, fullback and five-eighth - and hopes his utility value might bring some appeal to club recruiters.

He was set to be the Broncos No.6 in 2014 but tore his ACL in the trial.

Maybe the Dally M winning coach and Lockyer want him at 5/8. A serviceable cheap pivot to partner Milford at 7 (who is on his last chance to impress).
Doesn't make sense for him to be in queue with Perese/Farnworth/Coates/Arthars/Shibasaki/Kenner and then Staggs/Isaako/Oates/Bird.

More importantly this renews the hope that Boyd's last ever game was at Bankwest or/and that Bird is going in the next week or so!

I doubt Bird will be going, no one is prepared to pay the dollar he is on currently in Sydney.

No probs, Broncs will pay it and if he doesn’t work out, Broncs will pay him double to come back.

Also wouldn’t surprise me if Boyd’s contract has the 15 game clause but an additional clause saying he must be named in at least 16 games.

If Kahu can't crack a starting spot perhaps Siebs will use him as a utility? He would be very valuable to have in case of HIA. Also we really could have used him last year with our injury toll in the backline.

Surely he is going to be in ISC, there is no value in him at our team.

Can't wait for White's sitdown "tell all" interview with Dobbin or whoever blaming everything on Bennett.

I don’t know about but I’m looking more forward to hearing about how Darius Boyd is testing the best he ever has, how Andrew McCullough is training the house down and how Milford is kicking balls sweeter than Lockyer in his prime... all before we take the field where we realise actions on the field trump the talk before hand and we gift the Cowboys a 20 point early Xmas present to celebrate their opening of their new stadium whilst we go through another 12 fucking months of begging Boyd and Macca to be dropped whilst we listen to the weekly PR spin

I’m not going to fucking cop that next season and neither will most fans

Nope... I can’t for the life of me understand why someone would want Milf at halfback. He’s a 5/8 and at a stretch a fullback( depending on fitness) Milf and Kahu in the halves has wooden spoon written all over it!!
Dearden and Milf👌
Kahu should be on the wing or ISC or nothing.

Mate don't forget the techno music at training, the 6 minute "situation" drills and the ultra modern fancy "training above game speed".

Was he signed for two years or one at cows?

I thought the whole thing is that we signed him for three years, let him go to cows on the second year where they could just use him and pay his salary that year and have an option for another. They chose not to hold onto him so he reverts back to the broncos contract because it’s the best he can get and he actually likes the broncos.

I haven’t actually had the time to read up on it much. I may be entirely wrong.

Cows wanted him to stay, he didnt want to stay there. Third year was an option for him i believe.
