Hodges is the opposite. Pretty much plays his best footy at club level and rep he's so so.

Coxy said:LOL, more important than Origin...not all rep footy. Playing for your country is the pinnacle, and Hodges has certainly performed well at times in the green and gold. When he's been fit that is.
Coxy said:Well considering the best way to create opportunities for your winger is to get outside your opposite centre and draw the opposite winger in, then if you're hitting the gap and running onto a ball you're more likely to do that.
Hodges does it, yes, but he does it through strength. Step the centre, force the winger to come in and help, and then creates space for the winger. But he does it slowly.

players seem to think origin is the pinnacle... guess they dont know wat they are on about
QUEENSLANDER said:the words "pinnacle of the game" get thrown around a lot around origin time. its not incorrect either, origin is the best of the best, whereas internationals are purely the best of australia vs the best of some other place. being selected for a test side might be more of an honour, but the pinnacle of league, skills wise, is origin and afaik we werent talking about honour, but more so what the highest level of the game is
Coxy said:To be honest, skill wise I don't agree. I find many Origin games become more slogfests and teams play it fairly close to their chest. Way more skill in NRL and Test games, because teams are freer.
Intensity and toughness though, no doubt, Origin is the top of the pops.
