Winger as Captain?

There is a first for everything right?

The thing i have always loved about the Broncos is the captain is generally the bloke with the most passion as a Bronco on the field.

Right now it would be Parker next but if Kemp shows that passion for the club and keeps on playign his heart out i dont see any reason we cant have a Winger as captain.

All he needs to learn is to talk the talk.

And 9/10 responses from you could be classed as dumb.

If you cant add to a topic with something other then a pay out go to another site and post there.

The best thing about the BroncosHQ has been that even something thrown out there like my Kemp comment is added into a discussion and not shot down right away. Yourself and 3 other blokes are always quick to shoot down anything that Foxsports or Channel 9 has not told you to say.

Its obvious to anyone that Parker and Glenn would be above kemp in the packing order. However the passion Kemp has been showing for the Broncos is on par with that of previous Captains like Langer and Lockyer. And imo the Captaincy at the Broncos has in the past been given to the player who shows that. I know there would be things kemp would have to add to his game, and thats one reason i put the ? there as i expected a discussion about it. Not some pig headed "fan" calling it dumb and adding nothing at all to the topic.

Thankyou Ning for adding to the discussion as i intended

lockyer strikes me as the the least ouwardly passionate captain in the NRL eusa_think

He is very passionate about the Broncos. he has rejected moves to leave for far more money.

Also, if you think back to the finals game in 2008, where Inglis dived over to beat us on the siren. i still remember the look of pain and anguish on his face. it hurt him deeply

origin is "Just NSW and QLD" plenty of talented players get left out its not much different to Test.

Exactly - some of the best players in the game have been and will continue to be ineligible to play Origin footy.

I don't think ronny is doubting his passion just saying he very rarely shows it outwardly. Which may be considered a flaw but when you look at other positive aspects of his leadership you wouldn't call him a bad captain because of it. I don't see anyone of the current group being both the vocal leader and leader by example combination you can only wish for ie.Tallis or Langer but as the new crop grow hopefully someone from the likes of Glenn, Gillett, Norman etc comes through strongly and shows the allround leadership qualities that make great captains.

That try that Kemp score at the finish was awesome, and I second the Badge Grab. I loved it. _woohoo_
I was cheering him on. Nyaaaa bring on the Raiders.

Locky doesn't often show outward emotion, that's true. But when he does you can really feel it. Think 2008 and THAT final...think 2003 and the Kangaroo tour when he scored the match winning try in one of the Tests, the look of jubilation on his face.

I think his aura is excellent. The problem is more so there's not many players in the club who do show outward passion. Kemp's display on Friday night was fantastic, really showed his love of the club and the jersey. That's what we need.

Future captain though? I don't see it. I don't see any real leadership qualities in Kemp. He could be an excellent member of the team for a long time, but he doesn't strike me as a captain type.

Id have to agree with others above that it'll be Glenn. However it would be a shame for Parker to not get it next.

Parker will get it next, deservedly so.

Much rather see someone who actually controls play to be the next captain. He's certainly not a hardass like Gordy was, and I don't personally think he's done enough to deserve to be the captain.
