He did it when he first came here ... no reason he can't do it again.
He now appears to have taken a liking to running sideways across the park too, not running directly at the defensive line.
He appears to have lost his way somewhat, which is pretty sad as i think if he gets back to running straight and hard he would provide so much more for our team.
Agree. Absolutely.
I wonder what Kennedy's proportion of lean muscle vs lard is?
If's and buts ... A bloke his size ought to have serious impact. He doesn't for mine.
Bring Hala back up to the bench and drop Kennedy to QLD Cup to give him a rocket.
JWH is 108kg. That's what it has on his player profile.
If you don't have the leg drive or the aggression, you won't make much use of your size.
I don't think he lacks for aggression and surely with thighs like that he has the physical tools to keep on pushing after initial contact.
To me, he's just got to commit to his run. Don't aim to run into them, aim to run through them. Run hard, run straight, and forget the little shuffle before the line.
JWH is a great example. That guy hits the line with reckless abandon, every single time.
JWH also goes on with elbows cocked and knees up. I don't think Griffin is willing to push the boundaries of legality like some other coaches.
In fact, sorry to get sidetracked, but I think that Hook has been loathe to adopt some of the dirtier wrestling tactics, and it's been a reason we've had trouble controlling rucks in previous seasons. With the faster game, and cannonballs outlawed, there is less wrestling and it's pegged other teams back to our level of ruck control.
Maybe I'm being too harsh. Maybe it's too early to judge.
So far, for me, he is a major disappointment.

I'm inclined to agree.
I hoped he'd hit the ground running here. but he seems to have gone backwards.
Hopefully he takes some angry pills soon and shows us what he's capable of.
