for all we know this is how the Lodge/TPJ comments came about.
DD and the new roster manager, Ben Ikin, decided that although they want to move these guys on, the offers on the table weren't good enough, so decided that they would have them see out the season at a minimum. they informed KW of the decision.
when questioned by the media KW revealed the decision (although not the reasoning) attempting as he said to stabilize the team to finish out the season.
the Warriors then improved their offer to something that was satisfactory to DD and BI (possibly as a result of KW statements). so they decided to accept, to ensure we could use his salary to balance our roster moving forward.

Kevvie has no one to blame but himself, he is lucky they haven't turned on him earlier given how terrible he is at media stuff.

Got to say midseason it didn't look great and sure we still are struggling to win games but he has got this team to the point where we are in every game regardless of who play for well over a month now and it can't be downplayed, I would say at this point I would rate him a 6/10 because I still have an issue with some selections but Kevvie has earned his right to be where he is. The players are certainty playing for him which can't be said before hand. I think If we had Gamble as our half earlier on we definitely could be in the 8 this year.

There is definitely movement at the station. The collective mindset of the team has turned. We are playing as a team again. Kevvie deserves credit for that. He has coached these guys to believe in each other and to once again to be proud to be a Bronco. Something Siebold failed miserably at.

Would be nice to win another game before the end of the season though. 5 wins is still pretty terrible. There has been a lot of change for the good though

I agree. Decisions like that steaming pile of shite Klien and the bunker delivered on Friday night make that last request a wee bit more difficult though. Sure, we cut down mistakes , we win that one, but we were still royally shafted there.

The titans are sitting in the 8 on 9 wins after 22 rounds. It’s a pretty low bar to make the 8. You only need to win about 11-12 games.
Im not sure if we’ll make it into the 8 next season but we should at least be within that 7-13 log jam of low quality teams that are a roll of the dice as to who scrapes in.
Going into this season I spoke about how no improvements had been made to the roster over the off season and with a rookie coach there was very little chance of any significant move up the ladder, which unfortunately seems to be the case. Next season I don’t have the same fear, there are reasons to expect a decent improvement.
It is as plain as day that we are an infinitely better team in round 22, 2021 than we were in round 22, 2020, with what looks, on paper at least, as a weaker roster.
With no roster improvements to speak of coming into 2021, we were realistically never going to bounce back from our first spoon to be anything more than a bottom 8 (even bottom 4) team, but I do believe we are quite a lot better than 15th, particularly over the last month.
We are competitive again but simply lack some clutch players (and a significant amount of luck), which can be excused from such an inexperienced roster that was terribly down on confidence. A lot of our success next year will depend on how well our new recruits fire, but I truly believe we will make the top 8.
Walters absolutely deserves credit for that. He said he would make people proud of the Broncos again, and even though we’re sitting 15th, I’m again proud of what I am seeing.
The results will come, we just have to be patient. But not for much longer I don’t believe.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts too. Next season will be the acid test for KW as to whether he gets an extended contract. I hope he does.

I had a low bar this season, I just wanted to see the team become competitive and that they have become, really good signs. In the backend of the season with a fairer draw, despite losing 15 million big name and big wage players, the team has pushed the Panthers, pulled out some wins, thrown a couple of wins away and been shafted out of beating the Roosters. We also have two big ins for next season plus the marked improvement in our kids, really good signs.

I voted 4 originally and i think i would stick with that but would also be happy if i voted 5.
We are currently probably one of the hardest teams to beat who has run 15th at this stage of the season...but...we are still 15th.
In one of the other early season polls on where we would finish i had us at another spoon (i thought the Dogs would have been better) and said a pass mark for Kevvie was 6 wins and i think we will achieve that.
What i have been more impressed with is the hard roster choices he has made regarding Lodge and TPJ (we have only looked better since they departed), Dearden (great decision) and the recruiting of Reynolds and Capewell are big ins.
I also don't think the retention of Piakura gets Kevvie enough credit, the guy was out the door, we were preforming terribly and the media were into us with the drama filled headlines about how we let another gun talent walk out the door. From a perception view, this was a good win for the club.
I don't expect us to be automatic 8 next year, still too many young players who provide the wobbles through inconsistency but i expect us to improve again with results kind of like the Sharks or Raiders this season.
