Knights set to sign Ben Hunt

Not too much like Hunt really. Walker also had his share of crappy games and injuries eventually ruined his career.

Remember those 2 games Stagg played at Five-Eighth? yeah we're heading back to that.

I heard other teams are looking at Hunt but the Knights are a new one.

14. Wallace

For the love of God do it now.

Hunt's probably sick of being coached by a nuffie and wants to play under the sifu

"What should we do with Ben Hunt?"
"I dunno, make him a hooker and stick him on the bench? lol"

If Hunt was a good halfback he never got the chance to show it. A highly rated halfback in the under 20's goes straight into first grade as a bench utility. Gets a handful of games in the havles when an injury happens then gets shunted back to the bench. The Broncos have destroyed any chance of him being a good halfback IMO.

Lose Hunt and gain Widdop.

It works out in the end.

Yeah, I think we should remain patient and see who we sign before we start throwing our toys around the cot.

Who knows, we might end up retaining Hunt.

I'm all for giving Ben Hunt a go, but people here are reacting like we're letting the next coming of Darren Lockyer slip between our fingers. Maybe a bit of perspective is needed... :001_rolleyes:

The Dugan - Hunt - Norman - Widdop juggling act.

So far we've dusted the signings of Norman and Dugan. Widdop is a pipe dream.

We've got to sign Hunt, don't we?

Who is off contract that we could sign?? No point letting our young halves leave us when there is **** all on the open market to sign. Why we signed Prince I will never know. He hasn't been any good for years.

its not that hes the next lockyer, its the fact that hes always been lockyers replacement, along with norman who just signed with another team.

we have 28 year old useless wallace and 33 year old prince. apart from hunt, who do we have left to play in our halves?

Prince was a steal. Problem is that it seems to have had a massive effect on our rookies.

I agree we should keep Hunt, but we have to start giving him some consistent opportunities.

Assuming Prince doesn't get another year, it's either sign Hunt or next year we face starting the season fresh with Wallace and a rookie half (who the **** even gets a look in there without Hunt or Norman - Capewell? Nikorima? Kahu? Hoffman? Macca? Baptiste?).

Surely that's worth playing Hunt in the starting line up, cutting Prince or Wallace and putting the rest of this season down to a learning experience.

See, that's my biggest problem right there: Operating under the assumption that Hunt would be better than Wallace.
I know the latter isn't flashy, but he's nowhere near as bad as people paint him and he has been the best "spine" player so far this season, yet he cops the brunt of the flak.

What if Hunt turned out to be a bigger dud than Wallace? Would you start asking for Griffin, Gee and White's head?

McCullough on the other hand escapes relatively unscathed, and we have a bigger issue at hooker than in the halves at the moment.
