Mason in Limbo.... Should we?

That link doesn't say that. I hope you made that up he's past it big time and useless.
We haven't got much to lose with a one year contract but I would prefer it didn't happen because I fail to see many positives from him coming.

why? its up to people to notice and think about it abit more...

How ya doing broncospwn? :P

how did you guys not pick that as fake? lol

"He is said to of chosen the Broncos as he enjoys the fishing Queensland has to offer." fishing? baiting? lol

i think we should offer him a small amount for a single season, with the option (in our favour) of more for a second season.

hes a moron, an idiot, an arrogant SOB, no doubt about it - but on his day, he is near unstoppable. are those days behind him? maybe. but are we short on forwards? definitely. do we have anything to lose? not really.

Agreed. Throw him $60k with bonuses/options etc for 2010, and tell him he has to spend at least 5 rounds proving himself in the Qld Cup. Can't hurt.

We can even have a douche clause, which states that if he does anything that even reminds us a little bit of Willie Mason, he's gone icon_thumbs_u

Who are we kidding?
He has a 400k contract with the roosters why would he leave for a 300k+ drop in pay?

He's basically getting 400k a year to be on a holiday this year sounds good to me!

Broncospwn - because he still has time left to run with the Roosters they have to still pay the remainder of the 400k. So he accepts 60k with us, the Roosters will still be paying him 340k. He won't be missing out on any cash.

The Roosters don't want him regardless and would at least get a 60k saving.

not quite.

"The former Test and New South Wales forward declined to comment on negotiations with the Roosters for a settlement of the final year of his $400,000-a-season deal at Bondi."

he might get a $100k settlement because the club wants him gone, or he might get $300k, or he might get $0 - we dont know. he wont be getting $400k unless he plays.

I wouldn't pay anything over 100k for him. I don't see how he is going to help us as he will just hinder the development of Te'o or Setu though.

BHQ needs an English teacher!

i agree with those saying he could be given a chance on a small amount of money. he is a massive mountain of a man (no homo) and when hes on, hes near unstoppable. all he needs is a reason and motivation to unleash that each game.

Not a fan of Mason, but I'd be interested if we could get him on the cheap. There's no reason he couldn't play prop off the bench and add some size to our pack. And Craig Bellamy apparently was fighting to get him at the Storm. Plus, he and Hodges are good mates so they could knob it up together in games.
