Ok before anyone says this should be in the rumors thread, I figure this deserves a proper discussion.

The Roosters returned to training under new coach Brian Smith this week but have extended Mason's leave of absence and clearly do not want the big forward at Bondi.

Mason's manager Greg Keenan is in England on business but remains hopeful of securing an NRL deal by the start of the season.

"A lot can happen between now and the start of the premiership with injuries in trials and things like that," Keenan said.

"We're hopeful there will be an opportunity at the right club."

Could Brisbane be his "Right Club" we could use him for sure and looking at everything going on he should come cheap or the first year and if his only on a 1yr contract and has something to play for. Big Willie could be the best buy this off season!

Come on Scotty, i know you can add more the topic then that.

He's shit, he's bascially built a career around his size, but that's pretty much where his good attributes end.

Are you fucking kidding me? Along with Tim Smith, Mason was also diagnosed with a more serious case of dickhead disease. Doctors described it as incurable. This guy would be a stain on the Broncos jersey and I couldn't think of a worse influence on a young squad.

Ignoring this fact, Mason plays his only good football as a backrower, something we don't need.

And he's a skirt as shown in Origin

I'll take him for 50K a year.... He can help out off the bench and find a new club for 2011 in between games.

interesting excerpt from wayne bennett's last book, discussing the 2006 preliminary final against the bulldogs (we were down 20-6 at halftime)....

We went to the break trailing by 15 points, 20-6. In a hole, in a hell of a mess.

But the key part was that as they came down the tunnel towards the rooms big Willie Mason started mouthing off, 'THE BRONCOS ARE GONE... YOU'VE GOT NOTHING.' Mouthing off big and loud. My blokes came in fuming. I think they were more filthy about that than the scoreboard. I seized the moment and told them this was about the true believers... true believers win these kind of games, so don't give in.

he's a tool (not just because of the above) and I don't get why anyone would want him up here. We have enough young guys coming through who I'd much rather barrack for when they run out for the broncos.

But when his on his on no doubt about it. Mason would be an awesome player to have ON THE FIELD for Brisbane.

No he wouldn't.

**** I hate the off season. ANy player that has a name needs to be here.

He is the most overrated prop of the modern era. He is absolutely useless and lazy.

he has won premierships and Origins, His played for NSW and Australia.

He just needs to be at a club where he feels he is respected. Brisbane could be that place.

i think we should offer him a small amount for a single season, with the option (in our favour) of more for a second season.

hes a moron, an idiot, an arrogant SOB, no doubt about it - but on his day, he is near unstoppable. are those days behind him? maybe. but are we short on forwards? definitely. do we have anything to lose? not really.

That's all ancient history. He's achieved nothing since 2006.

Not even worth match payments for the negative impact he'd have on the team itself.

His been in Limbo since 06 really. Poor bastard hasnt really been settled at a club.

Through his own ego, behaviour and attitude. He had a good home at the Bulldogs but got bigger than the club itself, and went to the Roosters.

Showed the same ego there and failed to deliver on the field.

Once again, he's not worth the trouble.

This, if he shows to be a cocknugget still the club just boots him, easy as pie.
