Matt Gillett re-signs until 2020

Reading between the lines, the boys may have known that Kearney was at least considering the NZ job. Hence his joke that he might be going across the ditch. We all know Gillett isn't the sharpest tool, but I don't think the comment was meant as an insult, more along the lines of Matt not being able to shut his mouth for the sake of an in-joke.

Good on Gillett for having a laugh. Beats the cliche "I leave all that stuff to my manager and I just focus on playing my best and the contract stuff will work itself out".

Yeah, He really turned up to that interview, credit to the boys.

Good news for Gillo!

With Gillo turning 30 next year, is it jut me or has his career zoomed by.

I still feel like he's a young guy who has yet to peak. He's one of my favourite players but its weird to think he's entering his twilight years already.

Hopefully our halfback will make the most of it while gillett is still around

Im expecting at least another 5 years out of him.

Best defender in the team, but his attack was pretty dodgy last year, lots of dropped balls, bad lines etc. Hope some consistency in the halves helps him regain his attacking mojo.

I think we could get at least another 5 years out of him.

He is fit as **** and doesn't even look like coming close to slowing down. If he can avoid any serious injuries, I think we could see him play on for that long.

ISC rookie of the year in 2009.
