McGuire a lock to take Parker's spot

I like the idea of gillett at lock too his got so much more potential and we don't have front rowers to compensate for McGuire or blair we do have second rowers though like glenn or sua but personally I want pangai jr as lock put him in and let him play his own game the guy is a beast especially with second phase play just give him a hard preseason
I'm not trying to be picky but this site always had a reasonable standard when it came to the written word. Could you use fullstops and maybe even capital letters ?

A comma would come in handy as well.

Any suggestion of moving Thaiday back to prop should be laughed off this forum
thaday was back to his very best this year because he was playing his natural position of second row
prop Thaiday is just a fat guy who struggles in the middle
why move him when he has just got his groove back

Hopefully we are working in TPJ and his motor..Would be great to see him in the mould of taumalolo ...I'm sure he has it in him!

Patience is the key with TPJ. It took Taumalolo 3-4 years to finally settle in first grade. We cant expect TPJ to just slot in to lock and be our Taumalolo overnight. Its going to take some time to get him adjusted to whats required in first for big minutes.

Wouldn't mind to much if Dodds started at lock and then TPJ came on after the first 20 minutes and hopefully he continues to build his fitness and he can eventually start there.

Yeah I just don't want to see them all only getting 10-15 mins max. Parker being gone will help with that though

I can't see how Bennett can afford to have forwards playing 10-15 minutes this year with Parker and Wallace both gone

Maguire will be our 13 , he is the perfect replacement for parker

Gillett is one of the few players to have seemingly mastered defending on an edge. He will be wasted in the middle. I am expecting Arrow to be the permanent 13 somewhere through next season, but there are potentially 3-5 others who could arguably play there. Unfortunately, like in Gillett's case, the experienced candidates like Blair or McGuire just leave a hole elsewhere.

Could argue that he is wasted on that right edge, as well.

His defence has improved significantly over the past couple of seasons, but we still aren't seeing his attacking ability which is something we would see more of if he were to play in the middle or left edge.

I think he would do just fine there, and I would go as far to say that Gillett at lock would benefit the team. It would benefit our attack, but that's just me. It's frustrating knowing what he can do but not being able to see it because of a certain halfback's lack of ability to use him properly.

I don't think we would lose a great deal defensively with Glenn on that right side.

I vote for Glenn to start the season. TPJ can gradually increase his minutes and take the starting spot when he's ready. McGuire would be great if we ever had better quality and depth in the front row than the back row. I'm not against Arrow as a concept but I don't think a handful of solid but unspectacular hitouts off the bench warrants supplanting Glenn.

ALEX Glenn has declared his interest in Corey Parker’s vacant position, claiming a change could be good for him.

Brisbane forwards Josh McGuire and Jai Arrow are favourites to move into lock next season, but Glenn, who wore the No. 13 jersey for the Broncos under-20s, is confident he could do the job too.

As he recovers from off-season shoulder surgery, the Kiwi international says he has also been giving a role change some thought.

Glenn played the back end of last season off the bench and spent some time in the middle of the field — a task he says he enjoyed.

While his main focus for now is his recovery, he says he would not turn down a chance to wear the No. 13.

“Change is always a good thing,” he said.

“I would be excited to get a new role at the club. I’m not looking too far ahead but if the coach wanted to play me at 13, I wouldn’t turn it down.

“There’s a lot more involvement and no time where you can rest as there’s more happening. I got a bit of a taste for it towards the back end of the season and really enjoyed it.

“I’ve definitely thought about it but it comes down to the coach.”

Glenn, who is off-contract next season, said he will look more at his position within Brisbane’s 17 in January when he begins contact work again.

He is aiming to be right to play for the Auckland Nines in early February and is a certainty for Round 1.

The 28-year-old was in Sydney yesterday for the Auckland Nines jersey launch.

Brisbane’s jersey was designed by Glenn and his teammate Jordan Kahu, something the forward is proud of.

He said the club approached the New Zealand-born duo for the task and they chose designs to represent the coming together of past and present Broncos players.

Meanwhile, Glenn’s teammate James Roberts has managed to finish his year on a positive note, earning a spot in the NSW Emerging Squad.

Roberts, who spend the off-season in rehab for various issues, will be joined in camp by Titans players Ryan James and Nathan Peats next month.

I hope Glenn gets it.

I think he will do a good job for us there.

IMO, we can't move McGuire from the prop rotation, until we can add another quality prop too it.

I'm a big Arrow fan, but i don't think he is ready to be a starting NRL lock just yet, i think his development would be best served alternating between the bench and the ISC (playing big minutes in the ISC)

Only scenario we should move McGuire is if we get Napa, if that doesn't happen I think Arrow should get first crack, we've got fallback options if doesn't handle it well, Glenn / TPJ / Dodds.
