Devere missed every tackle I saw him try and make... Garbage picking him surely Henjak won't do that again. We played right into Bennets hands tonight by picking a tiny bench. the dragons were always going to try and bash us.

Wake up and smell the roses he was a joke and even if the game was lost he is still rubbish and should not have been selected. Henjak will have to have a shocker to make a worse call than playing Devere tonight.

I am not defending his selection, i felt it was the wrong decision to include him.

Just merely stating it is unfair to judge him on the short time he played.

Yeah your probably right it is unfair to judge him after 20 minutes of football but lets be honest most of us knew the outcome of his little charade to make a comeback to the NRL.

Or at least like to think they know everything about league when really they don't.

I don't have anything against De Vere himself, I just think it was stupid having any back on the bench when you've already got a replacement hooker there.

I don't have anything against De Vere himself, I just think it was stupid having any back on the bench when you've already got a replacement hooker there.

The selection was incorrect your right there Alec and I'm sure you don't have anything against him, but for others to judge his return purely on the back of being selected out of position in his first match back isn't even close to fair.

I'm no expert on league and never have sat there and pretended to, unlike the expert who had already determined that with no prior vision of Michael Devere in action present in his prefered position that he was already not upto the task.

Beads, I agree with your opinion of Devere. He was always a minutely talented player who tried hard. Really ordinary in many facets of the game.
He excelled at mediocrity.
In my opinion, your opinions lose oomph, ooh la la and X factor when you finish your posts with stuff like " I suppose your ( sic ) an expert'.
It is childish.

You don't have to rate Devere and I never said you had to, theres been Broncos over the years I haven't rated but I still support them and wish them the best. I'm just wondering exactly what his done to deserve to be treated in the fashion you and others seem so keen to treat him at every opportunity cause quite frankly in his entire career at the Broncos his given nothing but great service and done the best he can, was he a superstar no, but that doesn't make him any less a player or contributer to the side.

It finally came back to bite Henjak in the ass, his bench has been too lightweight all season and he has got lucky the first 3 rounds not tonight. Chief Devere cannot be rated on tonight playing out of position, I will reserve my judgment.

It is hard to judge him on such a short stint. but in the time he was on he just didnt look comfortable. If Ivan wanted to play him then he needs to make a decision and drop 1 of the backs and be done with it.

Why hasnt he played in the qld cup 1st to get his match fitness first before playing in an important game that he wasnt going to add anything to off the bench.

Exactly, I don't think he should be a certainty for the side unless he proves himself but it just doesn't seem right to not give him time in the Queensland Cup to get some matchness and confidence in a position his best suited and your going to get the most out of him, putting him in like this isn't going to get the correct reading of where he really is at, neither the best out of him.

Judging or not, I think its a fair call to say he should not be in the seventeen.
Pub football talk but I woudln't select him in our 17. Simple as that.
