He was my choice last year to make it to the big game. he is big enough to play in the forwards if we needed it l(ike tonight)

Tupou looks like the sort of player who if he makes it in first grade, it will be in the backrow. Don't know if he has the mobility to make it in the backs.

Beads... If you have an opinion at least make it an informed one. How can you make a correct, adequate and informed judgment on a former players comeback after watching him play for 15 minutes in an unfamiliar position? You're kidding yourself. That is why you have NFI

Beads, I agree with your opinion of Devere. He was always a minutely talented player who tried hard. Really ordinary in many facets of the game.
He excelled at mediocrity.
In my opinion, your opinions lose oomph, ooh la la and X factor when you finish your posts with stuff like " I suppose your ( sic ) an expert'.
It is childish.
Just a tip, but you don't have to listen.

You know, in the last week alone you've shown BHQ how much of a tard you really can be.

First of all, to judge someone based off 15 minutes in a game where the whole team was performing like a lard of turd is just ignorant and short sighted.

Secondly, DeVere believes he has something to offer the NRL, BRONCOS (Note: Not DeVere) offered him a contract and HENJAK (note2: not devere) believed he was good enough for selection. How is this "old loser"s fault??? What kind of a fan are you?????

Sometimes I really question the motives behind some of the Broncos fans, sure... but call one of the Broncos veterans an old loser is just stupidity.

Personally, he has alot more to offer the Broncos than you ever will as a fan.

Yeah, it'd be a fair ask to knock old Stu off that perch.

In all seriousness though, Mick shouldn't be judged too severely on tonight's game for numerous reasons. Should he get more chances i'm sure there'll come times this season where he'll show his worth.

Well de Vere was pretty poor. He just seemed to be walking around field, very slowly.

He shouldn't be in the side next week, not one of our top 17 players.

I also don't understand his selection ... DeVere was a great club man years ago and its a shame to see him comeback under such circumstances

Some in this thread are wondering why he took Sims place ... well we know what Sims can do ... but wtf on a bench of a hooker, a prop and a utility backrower can't we stick with Josh McGuire ... didn't seem to do much wrong last week - why not let him develop this year with lots of time coming off the bench

Henjak is to blame for this blunder we had Glenn on the bench as cover for the backline yet good old Devere gets a run... The paper this morning has Henjak saying he new the Broncos had to muscle up against the Dragons yet we had the smallest pack in history good work Henjak. Devere is crap and the Broncos don't need him until Origin time IMO he did look far to slow and he missed plenty of tackles. MIchaels was poor yes as was Winterstien both young with futures ahead of them Devere only has the Tall Trees retirement village ahead of him.

Have to agree with Beads6, Devere should never have been resigned. He was never a spectacular centre, but solid. Why they resigned him, when there are more viable, younger options available? And with Sims current form, he should have been on the bench.

Just to add to the hate here, De Vere made 10 tackles and missed 4 for a supposed defensive god. Just proves he is off the pace and shouldn't be there let alone as a bench forward.

Did you watch Devere??? Sure he was playing as a backrower but he still missed plenty of tackles and when he took a hit up he looked like a new born.

Rocky, he shouldn't be coming off the bench after 2 years in an unfamiliar position that was Henjak's fault. What wasn't Henjak's fault were the surrender runs and the 4 missed tackles from 14 attempts, he isn't good enough anymore especially if you put him in an unfamiliar role.

Yes I agree and maybe just maybe after Devere plays some QLD cup he could get a run in the backline. Henjak is to blame but I still don't think Devere is a defensive god.
