The National Rugby League (NRL) has advised player Anthony Milford and the South Sydney Rabbitohs that it will not consider registering a contract for the player until criminal proceedings against Milford have been completed.
Given the severity of the allegations, particularly that two charges allege violence against women, the NRL will not consider an application for registration until the court process is complete.
Milford was arrested on 20 September 2021 and charged with 3 counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and 1 count of wilful damage involving a vehicle.

Life can come at you real fast.

Wouldn’t his contract have been registered when he signed for South’s?
Maybe November 1 is the time when a contract is engaged and active? havnt seen a current contract with the RLPA regs and NRL no fault stand-down rules inside it yet.

Geez you'd hate to be a Souths fan right now, I know they made the GF and all that but they've lost their halfback, the bloke they were bringing in has a court case over his head and the NRL won't let him play until that's sorted, they are banking on a rookie half coming in and being the guy (as a Brisbane fan, we know that's unlikely to be a success).

They've got a coach who has been hanging around the right bloke but that don't mean shit, ask Newcastle.

We're a chance of beating them in Round 1 and what a fantastic way that would be to get the ball rolling.

Rabbits tried to register the contract back in August but the contract was technically defective for some unknown reason so the NRL sent it back to Souths, who did nothing more to follow it up.

So now they finally have and NRL has said nup…

Sucked in Milford… 🤣

For real?? Does that give Milf grounds to sue? Something about good faith of the like?

Cam Murray is gonna be so important for them next season

Jason Demetriou will be considered a top-tier coach. Everywhere he goes, success is close by. Damn near the best resume for someone who has never been a head coach of an NRL side.

He was my ideal successor for post-Wayne life.

You could well be right, but I think I’ll reserve my initial judgement for at least a season.

They said that about Adam O'Brien, take a look at his resume pre-Newcastle. 11 years at Melbourne, a year at the Roosters..

It doesn't mean shit mate, it's not about football knowledge, it's about how good you are at managing men, it's unknown until he's the man in charge.

Except that JD hasn't had success at the two places that guarantee success for the last two decades.

He's had it at Cowboys, Broncos, Rabbitohs, QCup, NSW Cup. Adam O Briens success is more trust fund success, whereas JD has earned his stripes in all kinds of teams and competitions.
