The $800k over two years is justifiable, though it does feel a bit panicky without seeing him play since the ACL. Why couldn’t we wait a few weeks?

The third year is absolutely atrocious if it’s in his favour. He’d be essentially 35.

3rd year prob has options for both club and player. Either via agreement or $ figures for either party to extend.

This was one of his better games apparently. Probably better than your average prop, but a massive downgrade from Haas sadly. If you take the Haas comparison away it's probably a good deal for us I guess.
 
Is he going to replace haas? HELL NO! He isnt even in the same stratosphere. But he is tough, is a leader, we save half a million and i think hes got haas covered defensively. Makes a lot of 1 on 1s, no quick ptbs, hits hard.

I think we would benefit from another bench middle - impact player specialist. And a gun edge, with a decent fb back up, then re-sign shiba, willison, etc on the change we have from haas, arthurs, paix or hunt, reynolds leaving.

Would actually be an improved squad

That's what I'm thinking at some point.
He's not back till round 10.

Possibly take a cap hit of 400-500k if we get him mid season.

If we send Arthars now could probably cover it.

He's a hard working forward who by all reports sets a high standard, probably as good a replacement as we can hope for.

You don’t need to replace haas
You just have to use the money you would have spent on him on two quality players that will pick up the workload he does
 
The only thing that worries me, this deal was meant to be reported last Sunday. I hope he is invested in the Broncos.

Is it that they are itching for Verhoeven and we've told them absolutely ****ing not - and nothing will be announced until Wahs are happy with a swap? Otherwise it all just falls over because we won't swap them anyone, or anyone offered doesn't want to go to NZ?
 
Has he played more games in the backrow or at prop? Weirdly enough I think he would be better at second row than prop for our team
