9 news more or less just confirmed that the text message pictures are real and that the NRL integrity unit are investigating the source of them at the moment, they'll hand down their findings / punishment early next week.

If it turns out to be true.. Pearce is gone

Having seen the text, assuming it's real obviously, I'd be worried about whether the lines mentioned involved anyone else aside from Pearce. They used the word "they", not "he". Hopefully it's just the eastern hipster trash way of speaking, there'd be nothing worse than heading to a new town and being led over a cliff by your captain in thr first week.
