Mmmm, it really doesn't matter what is reported does it. Power belongs to few and it's a nebulous thing. Bennett had the respect of many and during his first stint he did weild great power and influence, so much so he was ultimately usurped. When he came back the Broncos were never going to let that situation return. No, he didn't have great power but was still respected. No matter what agenda a person has or what narrative they wish to spin Bennett wasn't responsible for the business decisions of the Broncos. Anything else is a flight of fancy. Was it not reported that the power Bennett held at the club was one of the key reasons they decided not to renew his contract? Further to that was it also not reported that it was Bennett’s pushing and machinations for Boyd to get the 4 year contract that convinced them that last new needed to be his last?
