Name your top 5 Broncos

My favourite Broncos top 5

1. Allan Langer - He is the reason why I support them
2. Darren Lockyer
3. Nick Kenny
4. Matt Gillett
5. Shaun Berrigan

From an amazing game where Queensland despite losing Langer, Mal Meninga and Paul Vautin before halftime, michael hancock had to come off with a shoulder injury in the 2nd half while Bob Linder played on with a fractured ankle till he had to be carried off the field 5 minutes before the end managed to win 16-12.

Wow, that's random, lol.
I guess he was our best prop for like a year there.

I vaguely recall that for a very brief period, there was speculation he could be in the Kangaroos squad.

From memory, @ethos was a big fan - am I remembering correctly, good sir?

I'm a little surprised there is such little love for Miles.

I can only speak for myself, but it's purely an age thing, Miles retired the year I was born.

When I first started really supporting the Broncos I was about 7 or 8 years old, around that time (98-99) Lockyer was entering his prime, so my favourite player is a very easy answer. After that, honestly, I could put in any combination of players from that era onward, there's almost too many to choose from - Langer, Walters, Sailor, Tuqiri, Renouf, Tallis, Webcke, Thorn, Civoniceva, Berrigan, Hodges, Thaiday, Parker, K.Hunt, Yow Yeh.. seriously, the list goes on.

I probably need to separate the list in to three categories -

Favourite all-around players - Lockyer, Langer, Webcke, Tallis, Civoniceva/Thaiday (Can't split em')

Players that had my eyes glued to the television - Lockyer, Sailor, Hodges, K.Hunt, Yow Yeh

How the **** isn't he already an immortal - Lockyer

Nick Kenny at number 3?

Is this like when you put a swear word in the middle of your 3,000 word assignment just to see if the teacher actually reads it?

In no particular order.

S. Webcke
M. De Vere
P. Civoniceva
T. Carroll
I. Folau

1. Langer (the definitive Bronco - even to this day as trainer)
2. Lockyer (more amazing match winning moments than any other)
3. Kevin Walters (his combination with Langer, and also played well without Langer, won multiple premierships)
4. Petero Civ (so consistent throughout, great person, tough as teak)
5. Justin Hodges (best centre to play the game over the last 15 years, everyone knew what he was going to do, but couldn't stop him)

You know we really need more threads where we can post up meaningless lists.

Loved the fact that he bought it every game. Wasn't the most talented bloke but **** me he didn't give up. Wish we had him out on the field this year. Carried our ass in 09 and should have got an origin call up at least that year as he was tremendous.

I was at Suncorp for this game, and was sitting just behind the posts to the right, exactly where Kenny was taking the hit-up after the kick-offs.

Every run I was screaming "Go Kenny" and he was beasting it. Him and the other forward (who shall remain nameless) just took it to their much-fancied pack and destroyed them.

Reminds me of Dodds. Hard-hitting no-frills prop, they're the sort of cheap support players that every premiership team needs.
