BASKETBALL NBA

The Mavericks are probably not that far off being a contender, they just need to hit big on a trade or 2 and for Lively to keep progressing quickly.

It would help if Irving wasn't always injured / disinterested. They had quite a few out injured today and still did well against the Thunder who are flying.

Cant be a contender with that monstrosity of a defence

As a round up of the Aussies:

Exum scored 23 in his first start for the Mavs yesterday, he's really started the season well. played as a small forward too.

Duop Reath is really impressing as Portland's back up centre too. Thybulle has started scoring after a few seasons of not but Portland isn't going well.

Giddey has had a relatively quiet month, possibly affected by those allegations that have gone quiet but the Thunder are motoring along pretty well, looking like potential dark horses.

Daniels has impressed in his opportunities of New Orleans, even had a few starts but has had pretty heavily reduced minutes not McCollum is back and the team is blowing hot and cold.

Ingles has been an integral part to the bench for Orlando in their surprisingly decent start to the season.

I'm sure most people already knew this but Cooks and White were cut by the Wizards and Thunder respectively before season start and Reath (mentioned above) was a late inclusion but has been going great guns since coming in.

Landale, Green and Simmons have all been out injured, Simmons has been out for over a month.

Mills is getting next to know game time at the Hawks, except last start but didn't do much to demand more minutes.

Exum scored 26 points on the back of a 23 point game. That starting spot is going to be tough to take off him now.

Reath with 25 points and 9 rebounds against Sacremento!

Towns with 44 points at half time for Minnesota!

Embiid with 65 points and 17 rebounds with 4 minutes to go in his game, he might get a well deserved rest. Embiid is on track to be this year's MVP. It is basically between him, Gilgeous-Alexander, Antekoumblo, Doncic and Jokic. None of these guys are American.

It was a joke that he was award the MVP last year. Jokic was the real MVP of the league last year and by a considerable distance to.

Yeah no one will argue Jokic wasn't the MVP. He carried his team to the title.

Jokic deserved it last year but Embiid has been far and away the most valuable player this year. The only thing that can stop him is the number of games played.

He will be busted by the time the play offs come again and the sixers will get bounced in the 2nd round i think, embiid only cares about his personal accolades imo.

It's quite possible, though I do think he's gotten better once again over the offseason. His passing has come on leaps and bounds out of the double team and his midrange is just about automatic. Having a better coach is also nice. It'll be interesting to see how they go. They are not beating the Celtics, but can they make the ECF?

The Bucks look like the might be signing Doc Rivers as coach. Talk about self sabotage lol.
