and how did Seibs work out for us? if you don't learn from your mistakes you'll get more of the same

You're not even fair to Kevvie, you just include one year in SL and ignore everything else.

I include his top grade club career. not his reserve grade career

French league and games you didn't even watch are top grade. Sure.

If it's a coach you want you want ISC and everything included if it's a coach you don't want you hand pick some French games and say that's his whole career.

I understand that but Kevie has been around alot longer as an assistant and he coaches QLD . You were also all for Maguire but look at where he's at , you haven't a good strike rate to be honest mate.

and i if he gets the job, nothing would make me happier than to be wrong ... in fact, i'll be praying to the Rubgy League gods that i am wrong

Personally I feel his Origin Coaching career is a little underrated too. He genuinely had us up to our eyeballs in last series despite us suffering injuries to key personnel in spine positions and being quite comfortably outclassed across virtually the whole squad even before those injuries played a part.

If Peter Gentle can help the broncos avoid the spoon I reckon we should keep him on the payroll as an assistant. His whole demeanour oozes calm which is what these young boys need. Sometimes in life you are searching for someone and all along they are just staring you in the face. I just hope I haven’t jinxed him. Ha ha.

Maybe if we don’t get flogged by 30+ for the rest of the year, Gentle can stay as defense coach

He’s wrong on pretty much everything. Reckons whites doing a good job lol

He's kind of the forgotten man in all the fallout of Seibold. He obviously took a leap of faith to come up here too with Seibold and now the Head Coach who bought him up here is gone and the incoming Coach will no doubt have thoughts on Assistant's of his own so the poor bloke is likely to be out of a job unfortunately. Seibold is basically unemployable for at least a couple of years too so unless he can find another Head Coach to take him on he's probably stuck for options it would seem.

I liken it to Captain Smith on the Titanic.

Both men may well have been highly decorated, successful, and setting a record pace in a prestigious posting on their last hurrah, but if in the end the ship you were responsible for was driven into an iceberg by people under your watch, killing two thirds of the people on board, it's probably fair to say you're no longer doing a good job and that this is what you'll now be remembered for.

Exactly, the very definition of myopia/selective use of facts in this case. He seizes upon an outlier year and makes no mention of KW's other coaching record which you would do if you were making a balanced assessment/critique.

He's presented himself well and done a fairly good job so far and has extensive experience, I think he will get work.

Pretty extensive interview with Karl Morris on the DT. Some of the notable take aways:

- Not just searching for a head coach, we're scouring the entire market looking to assemble a 'Coaching squad', with a much larger emphasis being put on getting highly qualified assistant coaches.

- Bellamy not an option, Storm no chance of releasing him for 2021 and the Broncos have no interest in having an interim coach for a year.

- No discussions have been had internally or externally re: Cam Smith, no intention of signing him at this stage.

Except our Captain Smith bailed on the first raft off the boat and left the 2nd mate to go down with the ship.

It sounds like the board have outsourced this job to some high priced head hunting outfit to cast a wide net to come up with a melbourne cup field of names and then they will likely go through some convoluted culling process like last time.
In any case I would have thought it was up to the head coach to organise his assistants not be told so and so will be working with you.
This doesn't augur well for Kevvies chances in fact it smacks of the clusterfuck they did last time when they came up with the trainwreck run by siebold.
If you keep doing the same thing you can expect the same result. I really think the numpty's on the board have no idea about recruiting a decent coach.
