We need a linebacker. Shawn Merriman is a RFA, but apparently he is wanted badly. Banta-Cain will no doubt return after a 10.5 sack season, and Mayo will really need to improve on last season.

I just read that we may throw an offer towards Julius Peppers. Hope we do TBH. One of the best pass rushers in the game IMO, and he made it no secret that he wants to play in a 3-4 defense. I do hope they just give Wilfork the franchise tag like he is asking though.

Knowing Belichick we will no doubt go after a couple of veterans at RB an WR. Chester Taylor, Chris Chambers and Derrick Mason have been mentioned. Spaeth from Pittsburgh is apparently also being targeted, but I always saw him as more of a blocker than the receiver.

I personally would like to see us go after Ryan Clark, the safety from Pittsburgh. He's pretty aggressive, and we've been missing something like that since Rodney Harrison retired. I like Malcolm Floyd from San Diego too. I think he could slot in next to Moss and make some big plays. He's a RFA, but he could fall through the cracks at the Chargers focus on Jackson. A quality linebacker should be our highest priority though.

lol. Good luck with Julius Peppers. He's one of the most naturally gifted players ever, but he's lazy as ****. If he doesn't want to play, he won't. Enjoy paying $18 mil a year for THAT.

Re: NFL Draft talk

id have him on our defensive line

Re: NFL Draft talk

Peppers will go to Bears or Eagles. Or Redskins casue they will throw bullshit amounts of money at him.

Even though I doubt very much that he will end up at the Pats, I really doubt Belichick would let him get away with that crap.

Re: NFL Draft talk

Free agency is officially open now, with Nate Burleson heading to Detroit.

Re: NFL Draft talk

Antonio Cromartie got traded to the Jets for a 2011 draft pick. They have Revis and Cromartie now...

Re: NFL Draft talk

Ladies and Gents, Julius Peppers will be a Chicago Bear by the end of the day. He's currently undertaking his physical, and the contract is awaiting its finalization.

Good buy, but it won't pay off.

EDIT: Indy has also re-signed Defensive Captain Gary Brackett and released backup QB Jim Sorgi.

Re: NFL Draft talk

I dunno man, having Peppers there is a big move. Takes a lot of pressure off Tommie Harris and means Lance Briggs and Brian Urlacher can make some plays. If they can snare Antrel Rolle or Darren Sharper Bears will be a force next year. Especially playing All-Day Peterson and Aaron Rodgers twice each a year they need a solid D, and since they don't have to splash out for draft picks without a 1st and 2nd round pick they can still go hard in free agency.

Re: NFL Draft talk

Anquan Boldin to the Ravens.

Re: NFL Draft talk

And shock of all shocks (well to me anyway) Josh Cribbs has re-signed with the Browns

Re: NFL Draft talk

Ravens looking really good for next year. Rice carrying the rock, stallworth the deep threat and Bolding the star, plus Heap. Flacco has some weapons now.

Bears were meeting with Chester Taylor as well.

wow revis & cromartie on the same team. if sanchez improves at all the jets could win it all.
