macca does get visibly tired at times. i'd love him to become an 80 minute player but he does ALOT of work on the field. 40-45 tackles in 60 mins or so. hopefully he gets there

Yeah I think it'd be much better to not have an interchange hooker there and have an extra big prop or something. Or maybe even someone like Vidot who could slot into the back row or a back line position depending on what was needed.

But I just don't think McCullough is ready yet.

It would be good if he didnt have to defend as much, he would have to be up there with top tackling count for hookers
right now and he doesnt even play 80.

Smith and Farah are so unique and have set the bar very very high for every other hooker. They can play 80min at Origin level thats insane and i bet their replacements won't be doing that

I like seeing two hookers on at the same time. Strong dummy half running is an effective as hell tactic against tiring forwards, and then you still have another hooker ready after 1 takes a run.

I wouldn't agree with that too quickly but then again, I don't remember much from Penriths games last year. Segeyaro seems to have a fair bit of pace on him.

With our improved fitness Macca has to play 80mins for mine. This will allow us more impact off the bench.

A bench with the following;
14. Kennedy
15. Hala
16. Gllet / Glenn
17. Oates

Looks a lot better then
14. Granville
15. Hala
16. Kennedy
17. Gillet / Glenn

Macca not playing 80mins means that either Hala or Oates IMO will miss out. We need impact off the bench and go forward.
Havent i heard rumours Parker is playing front row to allow Gillet, Glenn, and Thaiday to all start in the backrow

Im not saying that should be the bench for round 1 but I'd assume that Kennedy and either Gillet or Glenn will be on the bench. The other two spots will be up for grabs. I'd love to see Hala improve on his fitness and get a good run. That leaves one position left. I'd rather oates get that spot then either Stag or Lowrie.

How many Wynnum games have you guys watched? Honestly sounds like you're basing this on two NRL games and a few 9s games. Granville is an ex-fullback who has a lot of speed and can play many positions. I'll just leave this here so you guys at least have something to judge him on.

Who would want Parker to move though? he is perfect where he is though. sure he defends up the middle and will do more hit ups than a front rower but his attack on the edges is crucial, look at the nines is edge running and offload was a real strong point for us

We're all too quick to jump on any solution for the 6.

No one really knows how Nikorima, Strasser or Kahu (or even the second coming himself, Milford) will actually perform week in week out at NRL level with the responsibility of the 6 jersey on their back.

They are all young and unknown quantities.

So everything done before playing first grade is therefore irrelevant? New players must just pop up out of no where.

He's been working on his defense and he played really well in his two first grade games..
