Norman signs with the Eels!

Drop him. He wasn't interested before, he won't be now.

Eels are deadset morons.

BTW Parra were chasing Farah very hard but he re-signed with the Tigers a few days back, so it's no surprise that they missed out on him and basically signed Norman a couple of days later.

so surely this has to go down as one of the most over-inflated contracts in history, right? $500k a season for a guy who has been very mediocre at best, but disappointing most of the time.

No, Parramatta always pay market for their players. Look at Chris Sandow, right?

Wow. Good to know that there is no way we could compete with that coin which probably was too good to ignore. That's absolutely top tier playmaker money - like James Maloney, Todd Carney, Cooper Cronk money.

Putting it in perspective, is it a sad day for Broncos recruitment when its the first time we :
(a) poured years into "the next big thing" for it to fail;
(b) couldn't retain a talented prospect for less than he's worth flouting the "but you'll be playing for the Broncos" card?

Sending Ricky Stuart an email saying, thanks for taking the garbage out for us.
p.s there is still a few scraps left over, make sure you pick them up too.

Agree. It's not about loyalty or sour grapes. **** Norman. If he's not dropped it will breed resentment with Hoffman and co.

It's about retaining the talent we have left. Hunt is all we have now for the future and he's gotta be close to leaving with Wallace and Prince in front of him.

sandow was FAR more worthy of his $500k than Norman is.

In relative terms Norman is worth about 70% of Sandow.

In absolute terms, neither of them are worth anywhere near $500K per year.

Next year the Eels may as well pack up and leave if there's anything greater than 8 point deficit.

Norman and Sandow controlling your team - I don't think you could find two greater gutless wonders in the entire NRL.

Ridiculous money, good for him though, be stupid to knock it back.

For the future of the club they need to move on and thats not with Norman.

i wouldnt even say 70%. sandow has actually shown that he can get points on the board. normans done nothing of the sort.

no, neither are worth close to $500k - but if youre going to pay one of them $500k, its not norman.

forget old carpet snake arms dugan, he is a moron and will be a bad fit for the club. there is a kid in the 20's by the name of capewell who is better than norman and dugan. he should get his chance soon.
Good for him .....

.. now lets get Dugan :thumbup1:

Agreed. Get Hunt into his preferred position and see if he and Prince can build anything as the year progresses

Where you put Wal and McC I am less worried about

Norman leaving is all well and good but what is next? The club seemed to have him as our next big star but obviously couldn't compete with that massive offer. I just hope we sign some players.

Tough times - all we need is a drinking scandal this week and we might have a chance versus the Storm.

His form doesn't exactly warrant automatic selection anyway, the club has been patient with him for a future which is no longer going to be at the Broncos.

despite his failings, sandow has won a number of games on his own. norman has never done that.

stuart seems to have gotten sandow on the right path though, playing pretty well so far this season.

Did it come from nowhere for the Broncos? I wonder how popular Norman is among the playing group? If he was on the fringe and expected (but failing) each week to lead the team, he'd probably be unpopular, especially as his actions don't speak volumes about effort.

is it that we couldn't compete with the offer or wouldn't compete with the offer
