Norman signs with the Eels!

I'm disappointed for him that he hasn't left us yet. Even the biggest and most loyal broncos fan shouldn't put up with the rubbish he's put up with.

Yep I agree. Hunt should have left long ago, he's clearly been treated like shit by the club.

If we don't start at least looking for some key position players how long will it be before the real talent we have heads for the exit.?

I told a mate at work (who is an Eels supporter) that the Eels just signed Norman on a $1.5 million deal, this was his reaction:

Norman better play left-right-out for the rest of the season...time to figure out our new spine and get them working together.

Not sure there'd be a lot of point in that ... The blokes who were touted as the club's future halves both appear to on the way out.. I have to think this means there's going to be some new blood in Brisbane next season

Even better news for some on here...

Norman has until round 13 to change his mind, but the 22-year-old, who's being lined up to play five-eighth for the Eels, says he'll definitely be running out in the blue and gold next season.

"I understand that under the NRL rules I have until round 13 to change my mind, but I just wanted Eels members, fans and sponsors to know that I will be standing 100 per cent by my decision to make the move to Sydney," Norman said.

"I have made a commitment by signing a contract and I will see that commitment and contract through."

Mark round 13 in your calendars... Party at my house, everyone's invited

Contrary to popular belief, I think Norman is a big loss, yet another promising youngster slips through the web. Granted, he has yet to hit his straps (how could u on this woeful side) but he will improve vastly before season's end and I won't be the only one rueing his departure. Whether he is worth the loot being reported is irrelevant, Parra thinks he is and that is all that matters. Next season he will be earning a good paycheck in a rising club in his preferred position and serving under a very good coach. He has none of those things currently and he is the big winner in all of this. I don't blame him for deserting a sinking ship.

He didn't desert a sinking ship, he left for an offer that no other club would even think of offering.

If someone offered me double what I'm worth I'd jump too!

And of course what he's being offered is relevant. We have to abide by a salary cap, offering 500k to Norman would be absurd.

2x0 is still 0 though!

Not to the Parra accountants.

He's doing the basketball equivalent of going from the Lakers to the Pistons... its good for him financially, but not so sure it's any sort of upgrade career wise..

I'd say it's more of a Celtics to Pistons deal for Norman

You don't think we'd be able to fit Norman in....?

If the broncos don't have acres of salary cap space to burn then there is something seriously askew... Look at the current squad and compare it to the one from Bennett's final season here...

If we were to match the eels offer it would have made Norman the highest paid player at the club, something that is not justified by his performances or his experience. Apparently the Broncos best was still $150k short and that's after being dragged up 60k. There's not much you can do as a club when others are willing to pay exorbitant overs. Better value elsewhere.

Not disagreeing with the refusal to match the Eels offer.......but
