Full credit to the Pennies, they came with a game plan and executed it perfectly. Kept Turbo right out of it, gave Saab zero breathing room, controlled the ball and scored points when opportunities came.

There was no letting up from the Panthers. They had a few calls go against them early in the contest but they just tackling hard and Manly weren't ready for the onslaught. Their forward pack completely outplayed the Sea Eagles and the backs rewarded them with some great carries out of their own end.

Manly really only had the opening to assert themselves but their execution was sluggish and they just didn't seem to put themselves in positions to utilise Turbo who is their key.

Manly will be a lot better moving forward. They won't be the only team to get trounced by the Panthers but a pretty poor start all the same. I have to agree with you Dan that they looked completely lost at dummy half but what was concerning was the lack of receivers. Panthers were constantly pouring through in numbers, you'd be lucky to see one or two players pushing forward. The entire team really struggled with the pace and they lost their grip 20 or so in.

I find it a bit unfair that St George gets two teams and we get left out. It makes it really hard to make the top 16 if you are not playing at all.
