CROSS FORUM NRL 2022 Round 25 Discussion

Meaney throws the hospital pass of all hospital passes and Bromwich has been smashed and loses the ball.

Bad pass. It wasn't on. The ball was meant to go out the back.

It's a lovely game this is.

That was a hell of a pass by gurtheron.

Also I don't think there is a team other than broncos I like to watch more when they are firing on all cylinders than eels

Bellamy’s face lmao. Looked like a Vietnam vet having flashbacks

That's why Melbourne are in the position they're in despite the season they have been having with injuries.

They don't know the words give up. It's not in their DNA. Unlike us....

I noticed Coates is still clueless on where to be when defending and Klein as usual started the square up just after the 60 minute mark.

I thought the try to Penisini really set the tone in the second half. He missed his assignment in the first half, but the Eels persevered and they got K. Bromwich to bite and it really opened up the space for Will to score.

The Eels really held their nerve in the second half and gave Melbourne little. The play that comes to mind is Gutherson watching the ball go dead. In another game, he wouldn't have taken that chance but here he was happy to give it that extra two bounces and it just prevented Melbourne from getting any momentum.

You could see Melbourne lose grip with the contest and that was when Gutherson stepped up. He goes the long pass to Sivo, the Storm don't recognise the urgency of the situation until it's too late and he goes 40m to score and wrap the game up.

Credit to the Storm for hitting back late in the contest but with only 14 minutes left in the contest it was too little too late.

A month or so ago I was lamenting the tragedy of the Eels failing to make the Top 4 and effectively missing out on their premiership window. They've responded at just the right time and now we get an absolute blockbuster when they take on Penrith. Eels have won their past meetings and while Penrith will still go in as deserved favourites the Eels are the only team that creates that level of doubt.

Meanwhile the Storm will likely find themselves playing against the Raiders, a team that has caused them trouble in the past before they take on the loser of the Penrith/Parramatta game. 2022 has easily been their toughest season to date and a season that would have sunk a lot of clubs has only seen them miss out on the Top 4. It's a credit to them and while I struggle to see them making the Grand Final from here, it should take a strong effort to knock them out.

I could have sworn the sideline commentator said that Johns was a category two and therefore his night was over. Did he actually return?

Conspiracy Morkel is wondering whether JWH and NAS have been allowed to grub it up all year so that all it will take is one snap by either of them in the finals and the judiciary will give them a 3-4 week ban, and therefore crippling the Storm and/or Roosters by losing their enforcer. Just enough to let Parra & Panthers breeze through to the GF. Level Headed Morkel actually thinks it's just a Darling Club thing though. There is no version of Morkel that believes everything is above board and the NRL are just innocently inconsistent.

Just about everyone enjoys seeing the Storm get done. Well done, even though you're a troll I'll probably be cheering the Eels on for the prem this year.
How is @ParraMania a troll.

They've been posting in game day threads for a while in good faith. Just because they embarrassed us no reason to be a bitch about it.

Good win parra. Hopefully they stick it to Penrith next week.

Storm have done ok this season without Papenhuyzen & Welch for long periods. Take Hughes out and they look very vulnerable.

What about all those bombs he flew for ?
Same as ever , flies high , touches the ball , then it hits the ground .

The AFL coaches have failed him !

It's just further proof Melbourne don't develop shit, they're just good recruiters.

I would happily argue Coates has become worse since going there.
