In the play the ball before the last Souths' try, the very play before, the Souths' player clearly knocked on and they cut the replay short when they realised what they saw.

Haas: what was the penalty for?
Ref: Obstruction
Haas: Against who?
Ref: I can't remember

The obstructer was Haas, except spoilers, he played the ball so couldn't be an obstruction.

I think they thought they could hold out Tigers and keep the challenge for later just in case,.

Tigers missing Laurie IMO.

He just provides that extra option that the defence has to worry about. The player currently playing fullback isn't doing much apart from that pass to Nofoaluma.
