Not exactly NRL related but Brad Thorn has just announced his retirement from all sport at the age of 40.

Congrats on an amazing career Brad.

An absolute machine to be playing professional sport for so long, one of my favourite Broncos of all time big thorny.

Idris out for the season with an ACL. Penrith can't take a trick...

Poor bloke. Hopefully one of Blake or Jennings can make the position their own.

Why aren't the Titans playing Roberts at Fullback.. he's virtually the only thing winning them games at the moment.

1. Roberts
2. Mead
3. Hoffman
4. Zillman
5. Gordon / Don

Should be the back line.

Big Pete have you heard any news on Tom Trbojevic as of yet ? I'm dying to know how serious his injury is

Normally I don't pay much mind but get a load of this.

Despite being rated by many as the clear MotM against the Roosters, not only did Thaiday fail to make the Big League Team of the Week, he also couldn't displace Kane freakin' Evans for points.

Somehow Jeremy Latimore was considered a better option.

And the guy voting watched both games...

How good Is Jake Granville going? Since he has started the Cows haven't lost although they have left things to the last possible a few times. I'm glad we nabbed the 2 points off them early.

Back to Granville, I'm really enjoying watching his improvement this year as I watched him at Kougari for a number of years where quite a few locals were saying he would make it in the NRL if given a go. I thought he was on the small side but there is something about a good little guy most people love.

He is so dangerous out of dummy half anywhere on the field and can sustain his pace as well, he will give Thurston a bit more room now teams know they have to respect his speed. Now the Cowboys have rebuilt their spin and found the right place for Morgan and Coote they have hit the form everyone was expecting of them, they should be premiership favs.

If Granville continues his upward spiral IMO he will usurp Macca and Friend as the next in line to Smith by years end.

That last bit is a massive call. Not saying it won't happen but that is a massive call based on a very smal sample size when he still has plenty to work on

Yeah, you're right it is but IF he continues to improve I believe it is very possible. The danger he posses from dummy half is such an asset to his first receiver and opens up options behind the ruck when markers have to chase harder to make up ground from having to wait for the pass. It's something we had when Walters was our hooker and something Thurston had when Payne was at the Cowboys.

The thing with Granville is he just keeps stepping up.

Baptiste also looked pretty sharp for the Raiders

Souths cannot cop a break.

Really makes for an interesting finals series. The likes of Penrith, Canterbury and Souths are really struggling because of injury but if they can get close to their best, they could all take it.

Otherwise, the Cowboys are really firming.

Saw this photo and it's funny cause it's true
