I can't believe how many Broncos fans think we will win the GF this year. Incredible blind support.
Yeah I'd much prefer to just give up on the year guys. There's always 2017!

I'm not giving up. But I just feel like there are going to be a lot of tears if people don't start to realise, the team we are watching this year, is not the team that got us there last year. Far from it IMO.

John Sutton is going to become the first South Sydney player to play 250 games for Souths on the weekend

I haven't watched the show in awhile but just read this:

Footy Show’s Erin Molan challenges NRL to ‘walk the walk’ on stance against domestic violence

It's great to see Erin Molan use her platform and call the NRL out on their treatment of batterers. Australia has a big domestic violence issue. Of all the reports police officers receive, around 2/3s of them have to deal with domestic violence. I could go on a huge tangent about how the criminal justice system favours the batterers, but the point I want to make here is that the NRL has to set a standard and wake up to the 21st century.

They messed up with the Kirisome Auva'aa case, hopefully they don't make the same mistake again.

The NRL has confirmed 10 minutes of extra time will be used in this year's finals series. If scores still level, golden point will be used.

From Brent Read on Twitter.

Extra time will be played in all Finals Series matches – including Grand Finals – in 2016 and beyond. The recommendation for a period of extra time prior to golden point in Finals matches has been officially ratified by the ARL Commission.
Under the new rule, five minutes of extra time each way will be played in the event of a draw at the conclusion of standard time. If scores are level at the end of extra time, the game will go to golden point.
The change follows extensive consultation with the game's stakeholders, including the NRL Competition Committee, the NRL Coaches, the RLPA, the playing group, as well as supporters.
"We engaged all the relevant stakeholders and there was strong support for this change," NRL CEO Todd Greenberg said.
"The stakes are clearly high in Finals Series matches, and especially in the Grand Final, so it makes sense to have a period of extra time prior to golden point.
"There were a number of alternatives considered but the consensus by and large was that the game should introduce extra time in Finals Series matches.
"Not only will it mean a more expansive style of football in the extra time period, it will also be less likely that a team is eliminated in golden point."

Channel 7 have secured the rights for the World Cup.

Awesome.

Their coverage of the 2013 World Cup was great.

Robbie Farah has been dropped to reserve grade.

What is with the Wests Tigers and their best players?

Top line players who have left the Wests Tigers in recent years. Benji Marshall, Andrew Fifita, Bryce Gibbs, Pat Richards, Gareth Ellis, Keith Galloway, Simon Dyer (injury), Lote Tuquri, Martin Tapau, Josh Ado Carr (will leave at seasons end). Could put Farah on here as he is in on the outer. Same thing happened before Balmain and the Magpies merged. Balmain's captain and heart and soul Garry Freeman was punted for no reason and in the 90's the Magpies let Jason Taylor, David Gillespie, Jim Dymock, Noel Gouldthorpe, Terry Hill and Jim Sedaris, All these players named went on to have success at other clubs.

What is with coaches there as well? The Tigers have had turkeys coaching them since their debut season only Tim Sheens is the only one to ever have success of any kind. Wayne Pearce, Terry Lamb, Michael Potter and Jason Taylor were/have been hopeless. Balmain even had shockers coaching them before they merged. Probably one of the worst coaches in this games's history coached them in the 90's.

History just has been repeating itself with those guys

I bet Taylor gets coaching lessons from Alan Jones, quite possibly the most useless clueless Rugby League coach off all time. How did he even get a coaching gig in Rugby League anyway.

Jonesy did this to Balmain in the 90's btw

Taylor is sabotaging the Tigers.

Farah may not be the most personable guy, but he's the second best player at the Tigers. As a coach, you've got to make the most of what you have. If you can't do that, then you shouldn't be coaching.

Who has Taylor got lined up?

Isn't Cherrington injured/off to Penrith?

Liddle is still too raw.

Thank god I'm not a Tigers fan.

Most of them were dead wood.

It isn't so much who they've lost, but who they've brought into replace them.

Surely this settles Smith v Farah once and for all now?

No idea where I should have put this so here seems good enough. Just saw on the news Steven Danks' house was shot up. He was injured when bullet fragments grazed his forehead.

ABC grandstand were just slamming the NRL for the fact that Josh Reynolds wont miss a game for his 3rd trip in the last 2 seasons.

They have said that the NRL are basically saying tripping is a legal act.

But when someone breaks a leg because they were tripped, only then will the NRL have a problem with it.
