the NRL are now considering limiting the number of full contact training sessions teams are permitted per year.

p.s. that moron in power still talking about how COVID could have bankrupted the sport, despite the fact that every sport that was going before COVID is still going today

This is because it was raised by some sucking up journalists that this happens in the NFL. Vlandys is trying to turn this sport into the NFL.

Ummmm...........this all beginning to feel eerily similar to a certain NRL coach who thought he knew everything and refused to listen to anybody else, he turned his back on heritage and introduced all these fluff pie in the sky ideas which were just bullshit.......he was found out.........but he basically destroyed the place in the meantime.

That said pies being fired into the sun makes more sense and is easier to believe than him being handed greater responsibility

That just doesn't make sense, does it? No, what makes sense is KW came in, said EVERYONE is on notice, a few journalists went through our list and came up with a bunch of names they thought most vulnerable and accordingly fringe players are first on any such lists and so Kennedy appeared there, next KW spoke with them all, reviewed footage, spoke with a few trusted voices and got down to business. What followed seems typical, training and instruction followed by observation and conclusions reached concerning each player.

All that makes sense, yes? I'd say KW liked what he saw and informed the club, these are my picks. I'd say Kennedy was then signed on a modest contract for two years. To me that's a show of faith. I could be wrong but that's my reasoning for thinking he is probably on 400-450 in total for the two years.

He wouldn't be the only player to have re-signed under Seibold that year, nor under Peter Gentle.

What also makes sense is that he didn't have a lot of offers on the table and he was happy to accept whatever offer he could get. If you think that's $200,000 more power to you.
 
This Folau thing is going to get very messy.

Clive Palmer is threatening to take the QRL to Federal Court if they don't register his contract by Wednesday.

Catalans are themselves considering legal action against Folau for breach of contract. he was reportedly allowed to return to Australia on compassionate grounds due to a sick family member, but wasn't actually released from his contract

I was 100% okay with Folau coming back to the NRL but since Palmer is now his best mate I hope he completely fails and they waste a ton of legal money.
 
Thank **** we didn't get Mitch Moses for the $$$$ that were talked about. He proved again on the weekend what a flat track bully he is. He really is a poor version of Mitchell Pearce.
Parra are a top 4 side without a chance of winning anything.

The way he carries on with refs tells me he’s still very immature and maybe it’s worse maybe he is just unable to control himself when under real pressure.
The only other reason I can think of is he’s just a full on prat.

His cousin is Isaac Moses and his uncle is the slimy Ben Elias. He’s from dud stock.
 
Anyone know who was the coach that had a massive tantrum on Magic round at the Hotel, had a big winge about food quality in the restraunt or something and even had the players embarrassed.

What was reported:

NRL COACH'S MAGIC ROUND HOTEL TANTRUM
The NRL are fully aware of an incident in which a head coach behaved extremely badly in Magic Round in Brisbane - but have chosen to sweep the incident under the carpet.

The coach in question threw a tantrum at the five-star hotel his team was staying at, abusing restaurant staff and slamming a table complaining about the quality of the food and service.

Both his players and hotel employees were embarrassed by the coach's outburst - and it's not the first time this bloke with anger management issues has acted poorly in the public eye.

NRL officials aren't happy with his antics, believing they cast the game in a bad light and send a shocking message to his young players.

But because the hotel staff were ordered not to take the matter further by management - and no complaint was officially lodged with the NRL Integrity Unit - the matter has been put to bed.
