The media still going hard on the players media blackout.

Riccio claiming the the RLPA's "bemusing tactic" is backfiring

saying that the RLPA's senior leaders have been calling around the game for backup, which has cause the finger pointing to begin internally.

he is also claiming that the "poor players" have had their careers put in jeopardy by the RLPA. His justification for this statement is that IF the lawyers could prove that players are in breach of their contracts, by not fulfilling their commitments to properly promote the game, every club would have the power to tear-up the contract of a player immediately.

he also uses an example of an unnamed club with an unnamed ageing player on their books already considering attempting this

There is no way the club's can tear their contracts. That would be a lawsuit they will lose.

They are also fulfilling club media requirements, just not NRL or media.

Onya Storm.

That screams well-meaning club sponsor having a great idea but not really knowing what he's talking about and understanding the rules.

I can imagine the Dogs straight on the phone to Faulkner and saying funny story mate.

Ridiculous that the NRL allowed the Storm one go through because if there is one club with a spotless record when it comes to spotless records...well it isn't Melbourne.

Anyone catch the interview with newton and hooper/tallis/graham? Newton with the patience of a saint while tallis and hooper repeatedly demonstrate their room temp iq's.

Gordie with the big brain take that players should be across what they are fighting for while simultaneously admitting he had no idea he was fighting for in 2003 when they brought in the first cba.

Tallis is a spineless twat who only cares about himself and will throw anyone under the bus if it benefits him.

His stance on this is no surprise, Fox pays his bills, so he tows the company line.

That this was allowed sums up how unprofessional the governing body is

To allow players to invest in a company that makes money on the outcomes of their profession, and is owned by their own club’s chairman, is so unbelievably suspicious it isn’t funny. And as part of their contract in lieu of a registered amount in a capped league, it just beggars belief

This is well worth watching.
Clint Newton is remarkably well spoken and intelligent and he absolutely schools the two numbskulls that are Hooper and Tallis who were very disingenuous with their arguments.

It never ceases to amaze just how scum the media is and people that work for them. They know exactly how bad faith their argument is but it serves their interest so they push it.

Thanks for sharing. That was an infuriating watch. Hooper is so arrogant in his idiocy. "What's a Strawman?"... FMD.
Props to Clint, I'm sure he has been dealing with the NRL guys in the same way for the past 7 months.
Gordon is such a dumbo. Only thinking about the money, and not the benefits for everyone that he helped enact. So egocentric. "You can change jobs, you know?" Far out, Gordon, way to encourage people to play in "the greatest sport in the world". Come play, also don't expect us to care for your brain damage, or help educate you if it falls through. Also, if we **** you over, you're on your own.
Honestly, the players should be on their knees grateful that they've got a bloke who has played the game with that nouse working for them and dealing with those morons trying to shit on him and them.

Tallis literally did the same thing to get the first CBA over the line, he's told this multiple times but 5 seconds later says they achieve nothing. He then says players should know what they're striking for, then says he has no idea why he striked in 2003 when he was leading it...

Hypocrite, dumb, dishonest, it boggles the mind.

I caught the part before it (before they spoke to Newton) and Graham was the only one saying that the fans don't give a shit about the "media ban". Tallis was trying to claim that kids want to see their favourite superstars be interviewed (which is questionable but fair) but dismisses the fact that this is only temporary, and hurts the NRL's biggest stakeholders (broadcasters) the most.

The others were just, hand on foreheads, lamenting how awful this is for the fans and how much the RLPA is out of touch, but we know it's a load of shit because it hurts them.

accusing season 7 GIF

How pathetically transparent the RL media is.

I guess when they use Gordon Tallis to discuss the big issues........what else are we supposed to think?

James Hooper is the new Paul Kent.......the RL media's new king grub. What a shitcunt he is....
No suprises to see Dobbo on the sidelines cheering his media buddies on.

I hope it escalates to a complete media ban.
