NRL Player Movement and Rumours 2016

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

Is that a real indicator that Kodi is on his way out. As posted above he is right down the pecking order at the Roosters now (pun sort of intended).

Assuming you mean Jayden, yeah I'd say his time at the Roosters is pretty much up. He didn't really have much of a chance, but he didn't take his opportunities I guess.

Hopefully the rumours are true and he comes home, I'd prefer him to some of these other middle aged nothings that are being linked to us, at least he has upside.

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

I'm pestering my source regarding Jayden but getting nothing.

This is almost a Daniel situation but I work with the father of one of his best friends.

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

Ah, I see what you mean Unbreakable. They need to come up with a better term than outside backs, because when it's used, it usually includes the fullback. I will say even so, you can't take Mitchell out of that equation. He's a versatile player and there have been rumours surrounding the Roosters signing a fullback to give Mitchell time to develop. I've said my piece on Manu, but even Johnny Tuivasa-Sheck and Bernard Lewis are exciting prospects.

I believe the term is "three quarters" or "three quarter line".

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

I am not understanding what the Roosters are doing tbh. Why are they signing Michael Gordon? Luke Keary seems the wrong choice of partner to go with Pearce as well. Odd.

only reason they are signing Gordon is because they don't have a decent goal kicker

Silly reason to sign a player that is in their 30's who know how to find an injury.

Yep, everyone in between half and full back. Centres and wingers basically.

Is that a league term as well? Only ever heard it in union.

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

Speaking of Daniel, I've noticed him on Twitter recently. He posts his usual shit but some people actually believe him.

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

Michael Gordon to Roosters on a 1 year deal

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

I actually like the Gordon signing.

The Roosters don't need to sign a star fullback, they already have one in Latrell Mitchell. Mitchell has the skill-set to be a superstar of the game and has a long career ahead of him. In the long run, a stint in the three-quarters (thank you @Dash for the assist) will do him the world of good and I can see him challenging for a Dally M award in 2017, just like Tuivasa-Sheck did in his sophmore season.

Gordon is the perfect man for the job. You'd swear reading some comments people are making him out to be Will Zillman who continues to rob the Titans blind. That couldn't be further from the truth. Ever since he made the switch to Cronulla, Gordon has been one of the most reliable players in the game and will provide the Roosters with the seniority at the back to help structure the defence and defuse difficult situations. On a one year-deal, he is a great fit for the club and should provide them with some much needed stability.

It's a good decision all-round. Not only does it relieve Mitchell of all that pressure, it also allows him to come in for a Daniel Tupou or Dale Copley and bolster that three-quarter line. With Manu and Lewis waiting in the fringes, the future looks bright for the Roosters backline.

It leaves just one question - Gutherson or French? Who will be the Eels fullback moving forward?

Hardaker officially with Penrith, what's the plan there, centres?

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

Maybe he's coming to Brisbane instead of Semi.

I'd be pretty happy with that.

Oates and Mansour could have a similar impact for us to the pairing of Sailor and Tuqiri.

Add in a center pairing of Kahu and Roberts

Have Boyd chiming in from the back

Hunt and Milford steering the ship

And you have the deadliest backline in the comp
