NRL Player Movement and Rumours 2016

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

Wasn't there talk of him getting a million per season earlier on this year? Silly bugger cooked $900k on dinner, a few pills and a Canadian Club and dry (served wet).

To be fair, only the Eels would have been dumb enough to pay the guy that much. Is still a lazy peaheart, who believes too much of his own hype.

[h=1]Rabbitohs sign host of youngsters[/h]THE Rabbitohs have announced the signings of youngsters Robert Jennings, Tyrell Fuimaono, Braidon Burns and Connor Tracey for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

As first revealed by The Mole earlier this month, South Sydney have secured the promising youngsters as they look to re-shape their squad ahead of next season.
Jennings, brother of NSW centre Michael, will make the move from Penrith having made five NRL appearances for the Panthers first-grade side.
The 20-year-old, along with new recruit Fuimaono, respresented the Junior Kangaroos for the past two years, with fellow Panther Burns also set to make the switch.
Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire is looking forward to welcoming the promising youngsters to the club as they look to improve on what’s been a disappointing 2016 campaign.
“Our recruitment team has had their eyes on these four players and to be able to bring young players of this quality to our Club is fantastic for the future of the club,” Maguire said.
“They have all excelled in their respective age group competitions and we’ve seen Robert progress to the NRL ranks already.
“We see a lot of upside in these guys, we believe they will push for first grade selection next year, providing more competition for spots in our top 17.”

MELBOURNE have emerged as a shock dark horse in the race to sign troubled halfback Kieran Foran.

With Cooper Cronk nearing the end of his career, the Storm are thinking about the long-term and have made contact with Foran’s advisors.
Foran knows he needs to get away from Sydney and some of his questionable associates – and that works in the Storm’s favour as they try to beat the Bulldogs, Warriors and Roosters to sign the Kiwi Test ace.
Canterbury remain favourites to pick up Foran because of the Des Hasler connection, but the Storm’s emergence has dramatically changed the landscape.

Parra would (and should) be fucking spewing. And the NRL should also step in. The whole situation is fucking ridiculous.

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

What a farce. Greenturd and associates must enjoy looking like complete fucksticks, it's the only explanation.

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

I'll be absolutely horrified if Melb get him.

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

Bulldogs, Storm and Warriors, three teams who only ever seem to sign star players, three teams with absolutely zero questions to answer when it comes to salary cap rorting. 100%, three teams that should never have questions asked. Am I right?

How about the Sharks? Every year they add 2 more established, quality players and lose nobody. Talk they were after Gillett was fine when it was assumed Gallen and Lewis were retiring, but they're not.

Who was the last star that the Bulldogs or Melbourne signed?
They both seem to me to sign average to good players who usually get better and more valuable at Melbourne, and stay roughly the same or get worse at the Dogs.

If you're talking about Foran, I have no idea how Melbourne could afford him, maybe Slater's off the books. The Bulldogs are losing Tony Williams who is massively overpaid right now.

.

In the dogs case Floppa Hoppa. Tony Williams would've been their biggest signing (in terms of $$$) in recent years. Brett Morris too. They have lost Hodgkinson and Finucane in recent years.

Storm have focused on their big 3 though, they've gained Finucane and have some quality players but mostly solid and not superstars.

Roosters and Warriors are the two teams with the most rubbery salary caps IMO

parra are a bad club for bad fans, they deserve every moment of the excruciating agony the season has been for them.

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

I think the warriors salary cap is a bit overstated. Sure, they have RTS, Hoffman, Johnson & Luke all there on big money. But other that that, they have a lot of players that would have taken a paycut to stay in NZ simular to what some players in Brisbane do. Looking at all their rep players is a bit deceiving as well because they were like us in the early 2000s with origin. Because we were pretty much the only good QLD side, the QLD origin team was pretty much us plus a few ring ins. This is the same with the warriors however, its starting to finally equal itself out with many clubs having kiwi reps in their team now. Whether they have 700k for Foran would be a stretch and they would have to release one or two players to say the least.

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

Drags sign Nene MacDonald. Quality signing for them.

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

Shaun Lane has signed with Manly

Re: NRL Movements and Rumours - 2016

As much as I like the potential of Nene Macdonald.. what are the Dragons doing?..

They've now got like 6 players on their roster who are primary centres that aren't good enough ball players to play Fullback..

Dugan
Aitken
Lafai
Mann
Macdonald
Milne
