My old man is a life long Roosters fan, he's actually not too pleased with the signing, especially if they have to lose Pearce because of it.

I agree. People are giving me shit on Twitter for saying it but Cronk was shit this year compared to previous years.

I think it’s a massive risk for them to sign Cronk on a huge contract particularly if it’s for two years. The guy has played with the same spine since day one ultimately under the same resiegm and game plan calling the all the shots. I’m not saying he will flop at the roosters but I think there’s definitely a possibility that things just won’t gell with him in the team. He’s the ultimate professional and individually all class but he has to click with 16 other blokes.

I grabbed this team off a roosters fan page, in all seriousness it’s a cracking side on paper. Surely they must have zero depth outside the top 18 with so much money tied up with 1-18

Cronk really was the final piece of the puzzle for them.

They have had the squad to win a premiership, but they haven't had that player that can deliver in those big moments in the big games. Pearce was not that player. Cronk is.

Did they win the comp last year? Good organisations compile a squad that they think can win the comp in the coming season much like the Broncos, Storm and Cronulla do. Other sides compile teams to hopefully make the playoffs and others are forever in a rebuilding process. Despite making the final 4, the Roosters were never a premiership chance in 2017 (much like the Broncos). The additions of Cronk, Tedesco and co assures them of being title faves come Round 1.

It definitely it’s them in the argument but there is the furthest team north who would argue about favoritism.

For all this talk about Pearce making way for Cronk, I think most ate looking at it from the wrong perspective.

If anyone is to be repositioned on the back of its signing, I'd say Keary would be the better option off the bench, and Cronk/Pearce in the halves. Could provide similar value to how we played Kodi in 15, quick off the mark and decent vision, do some real damage out of dummy half if injected right.

As far as the salary cap goes, we're not exactly crying poor. Well run clubs like Rooster, Storm, Broncos and NQ know how to structure their cap to take advantage of these situations. They lost SBW and Mini in 2015, then RTS, Maloney and Jennings in 2016. Sure they made other signings, but it's not unthinkable that they've balanced the books well enough to make Tedesco and Cronk possible.

It's the offense of publicly saying (by signing cronk ) he isn't good enough to get them to a premiership.
