NRL Player Movements and Rumours 2013

I've been saying it and saying it. Rabbitohs only have a very narrow window of opportunity to go for the premiership. The 4 Burgesseses are all on unders because Rusty has promised them a premiership. It was only a matter of time before that sense of entitlement was replaced by cold reality. This is most definitely their last chance. Fifita may replace Sam but he's twice the price and I can't see the twins or Luke sticking around on minimum contracts.

There is a picture of Sam when he was younger in a Broncos jersey. I wonder if any of the other Burgi are Broncos fans.

The beautiful thing about our game is we keep producing new talents.

Yes, but it doesn't make it any more acceptable when current ones leave. I often hear this argument as to why it's not a big deal that players switch, but frankly there are not enough stars in our game. The game still doesn't have anyone with the same profile as Israel Folau, and whilst his performances last year were pretty average, I doubt there's anyone else who has come along that excites the kids as much as Benji did. And think about SBW and all the hype he generated for the game last year.

I don't care if another talent will [eventually] come along, the game doesn't have enough stars and people like Burgess (and potentially Fifita) leaving is an unquestionable blow to the game.

Flake rumoured to be heading to England to play Yawnion. What's his chances of getting a visa with a sexual assault conviction?

Only positive of SBW leaving is the Roosters hopefully going back to being shit IMO.

SBW honestly seems like a decent guy these days, it's the media beating him off because of his talents.

I don't think he'll be granted a visa. They're pretty strict about that from what I've seen. I doubt he'll be playing in the UK, maybe somewhere else like Japan.

That's Italy, though.

England are a little different. Ferguson has a history of alcohol fuelled incidents etc, and his chances of being allowed entry into the UK are slim at best. They usually don't allow people entry if they have been convicted of a crime within the last 12-36 months of applying for a visa. If I was the person in charge, I would tell him to **** off.

I can't think of a single person that has since they started getting stricter on it. Japanese Rugby looks like his only option.

I could be way off, but I get the sense that he yet to get the message that the way he conducts himself is unacceptable. With appeal pending and wot not. He needs to go and earn a living the conventional way for 12 months, see what reality is.

Absolutely. His wording is like he wants to get back in to League so he can prove that he's still an asset on the field. If he can just get a crack then people will see how much money he's worth and then he won't have to sponge off Uncle Mundine. Will Smith needs to go all Independence Day, punch him of the head and say "welcome to Earth".
