NRL Player Movements and Rumours 2014

There is one coach I completely forgot about. Maguire.

I think it's very highly unlikely, but you never know what goes on behind closed doors..

I don't think the Raiders are ever a chance of signing somebody for small money. I seem to recall that Canberra almost always have to pay overs, largely because they need to pay an incentive to get people to actually live in Canberra (I'm not joking!). They almost solely rely on junior development and frankly I cannot remember them making any notable signings in recent times.

Their recruitment almost exclusively consists of rejects or journeymen (this year's signings include Lagi Setu and Kurt Baptiste) and other than Blake Ferguson I cannot remember them signing anyone in the prime of their careers in recent years. For them G-Stew is probably as good a signing as it gets.

Brett White?

He just re-signed literally 2-3 weeks ago. If he were unhappy and seriously looking at leaving I doubt it was him. Plus the Souths board seems pretty sound.

If it's Benny, who would be the other star, as obviously Boyd will be one of two?

Mullen is off contract. He, Gidley and Uate are probably the only players on their teams you could call stars. But this is RLW though, they would call pretty much anyone a star.

Not sure this is about Bennett though. Wonder if the Dogs are annoying Hasler...?

Mullen would be great if we can't get DCE if Bennett leaves, takes him with him and comes here. Excellent kicking game, great running game, good passing game and even organisational skills.

I'm guessing Mullen.

I hope it is Bennett, he signs with the Broncos and brings Mullen with him.

Apparently it's not Bennett, but that's from The Mole so it probably is.

Has anyone seen that? I wonder who the coach could be..

I think it comes down to Bellamy, Toovey, Bennett, Hasler & Cleary if it is true.

I can't think of many other highly rated coaches in the NRL unless you want to count Cartwright also.

I'd say Madge personally. I know he just signed a new deal but there are all those rumours about Rusty interfering etc etc.

...maybe it's Hook!!! *chortle chortle*

Great at lying in bed too. I love the guy as a player but christ he's injury prone.

I'd say Hasler, he has shown he's prepared to walk away from a club if he doesn't get what he wants.

Why not Bellamy? Imagine if Smith has already signed with the Broncos and the two he brings are Cronk and Slater? Or maybe Toovey will bring DCE and Brenton Lawrence haha. Wishful thinkings. It's probably just Mick Potter and he'll take Anasta and Liam Fulton.

Does anyone think it could be Trent Robinson? All he said was a highly rated coach, and Robinson is highly rated..

TBH it could be just about any team. "Highly Rated Coach", well, most coaches who coach an NRL team would have to be rated pretty highly. And just because it's a highly rated coach doesn't mean it's a well performing team. We could be talking Cleary getting the shits with Gould. Didn't Flanagan just ask for a payrise? Maybe he thinks the club isn't doing everything they can to get him un-banned, and wants to walk with Gallen? It could be anyone, and when a coach goes elsewhere there's normally at least one player who eventually follows, meaning it's just another BS rumour that's no more accurate than card-reading to the gullible.
