Well remember, Paps was re-signed for like 500k a year because he had that head knock that one time.
No one ever recovered from one. Huge risk from Melbourne. Arguably top 3 fullback signed for unders without going to market.

I'm not sure what the deal ended up. The initial speculation was $700K over 3 years but then it ended up being four and naturally it was speculated he'd be among the highest paid which is still around that mark.

Head knock one time that kept him out of action for 10 weeks and he was a shell of himself when he returned.

I think it was once reported to be something like 670k. I remember it being some odd number.

I can't be the only one sitting here thinking that Munster isn't turning out to be the superstar that Melbourne probably need him to be, I reckon Hughes has been the more influential player

He's overrated to high heaven, and it looks like it's all because of his fuckwit ego.

He's pretty good when he is high...I mean wants to be, let's not let the facts get ignored here.

Munster tends to save his best for the big games. The very best play well pretty much every week and he doesn't do that really.

Slothfield reporting the Jack Bird is set to test the market for the 2023 season. he is reportedly unhappy that the Dragons asked him to take a "significant pay cut" to stay at the Dragons beyond the 2022 season.

the report is that their offer is half of what he was paid by us.

Slothfield also says that he has made contact with Bennett about joining him at the Dolphins in 2023

then just to muddy the waters a little more, he starts speculating that Bird won't want another stint in Brisbane (despite claiming earlier in the article that it was Bird who initiated contact with Bennett), so throws up The Sharks and Eels as possible destinations for Bird

Would be a good 13 for the Phins.

He was apparently offered 500k, he's delusional if he thinks that's unreasonable.

I love how the Dragons thought they were ahead of the curve by taking on some of our rejects with us chipping in, the reality is that they were worth about as much as the Dragons were paying them (even with our donations)

Can't think of a worse place for Walker. He is going to get lazier, grubbier and all round shitter in general. He would have been a good unders signing for a place like Storm/Roosters.

Warriors are the new retirement home for NZ Test players
